What made you decide on an evo?
I used to own a dsm when i was 18-19 been a dsmer since, always wanted an evo since they came out because of it. subarus never did anything for me. and it doesnt help theyre the new mad tyte thing to own thanks to ken block and gymkhana. as soon as i found out i was deploying two years ago i told the wife i was buying an evo with my deployment money. i bought it because of the potential i knew it had. i always heard they handled well didnt know how true that was untill i turned the wheel. theres only one car ive ever owned or driven thats handled better and thats a miata.
had an rx8 n/a with boltons before i bought my evo, and while i enjoyed looks handling and decent power, rotary relibaility, and lack of good aftermarket turbo kits were far and few back then, and gettin whooped bad by a 350 whp evo, made me orignally take a second guess, at down the road wantin an evo. So found mine in 07 at a mom/pop mexican auto sales place, 22k 03 with 39k on it. Found it in blue by you one of my favorite shades of blue haha The rest is history.

I read an article about the Bozz Speed Evo 6 in Sport Compact Car Magazine, and wanted one ever since.
I was considering: STI; 350z
Purchased evo new.
Sometimes I have regrets, like when an intercooler pipe blows off and leaves me stranded on the side of the freeway with no tools.

Exterior styling was a big seller, but I was already a fan of the Lancer body style to begin with.
Recaro Seats
Turbo
AWD
Sedan
The almost limitless possibilities with power and pure performance.
The list can go on and on but it was just a different kind of car, one that gave me an adrenaline rush just from pulling the keys out of my pocket (I swear, I got light headed a few times from sheer excitement of just seeing the car). Haven't had that experience with any other car I've ever owned or ridden in.

As the title says, what made you decide on buying an evo?
I first saw an Evo in Who Am I and knew that I liked the car. I was pretty happy when I found out that they were coming to the U.S., though I was only halfway through college at that point. When I was about done, I was in a position to buy one, though they were a bit pricier than I was hoping to spend, as I was ready to buy a WRX, but I wanted a new 2005 model and not a 2006 (because I didn't like the design), but in February 2006, the 2005s were basically gone, or at least the one that I wanted. I decided to just get an Evo IX, and I'm glad I did.
What else did you consider when you were buying?
Realistically, the above mentioned 2005 WRX, at that price point. I knew I didn't want an STi since it was roughly the same price as the Evo, but the Evo was always regarded as a better overall package, particularly in the handling department. But I had also been looking at the IS350 (which was too expensive) and G35 Coupe (which was already seeming a bit old to me, plus the images of the G37 concept had hit the web, so it made me not like the G35 anymore). A year or two before, I was also looking at the SRT-4, but I'm really glad I didn't go that route. I had a lot of friends who cared about me and convinced me not to go that route, haha.
Did you buy it new or used?
New, with both Evos I've owned.
And do you have any regrets?
No. Both of my Evos were graphite grey, though had they made a white IX SE, I'd have considered that one.
However, it wasn't financially feasible (and still isn't), but I'd have liked to have purchased a white RS as well, either VIII or IX, and have stashed it for use as a track car. That would've been pimp. I remember my dad eyeing a white IX RS when he and my mom went to the dealership with me (as they were taking my old hand-me-down car home since I drove there) and thinking about getting one.

Back in the late 90's I was always reading about the exotic jap cars, skylines, Sti 22b, evo's, silvia. And then playing the original Gran Turismo...man! all those cars that we never got over here. Then we got the wrx and evo in the states and I wanted one or the other. Back then finances were never in my favor. But I finally got me one. Hope one day to own a R33 or R34 skyline....hey dreaming is free, lol

What made you decide on buying an evo?
Researched it back in high school. Very functional (4dr, trunk space, AWD for Michigan) Looks. Large amount of mods available and the tech support to go with it on this forum.
What else did you consider when you were buying?
WRX, VW Jetta TDI
Did you buy it new or used?
Used
And do you have any regrets?
Not yet! Less than two months in and I have had multiple issues but the feeling I get every time I get in the driver's seat makes everything worthwhile

I've owned 240sx's since i could drive. Now that im 24 im finally getting out of the drifting world and i wanted something 4 wheel drive but very fast and aggresive. 5 of my buddies own the evo and after riding in theirs, I had to have one. Soooo i purchased my first evo yesterday. super pumped!!! The only other vehicle i was considering was a lexus is300, but with the money you spend to make one of those have any power at all an evo could have 500hp sooo, it was pretty simple
