The clincher for me was when I saw Jackie Chan's "WHO AM I" That movie had an insane drive scene with an older evo and I was like I must own this car one day. Years later the evo 8 was released but I was too broke at the time.

I was on the fence between an 06 sti and evo also. I really had to do lots of thinking because I loved the low end grunt of the sti and the nice gauges and tq, but then I ended up driving the evo and it just felt more sharp and in control and I loved the sound. I found a nice 06 mr with low mileage and mint condition. I walked to the dealership and just bought it quickly. As I signed the papers a kid came with his dad asking about the car, "Sorry it's just been sold" I knew I had to act fast. That felt good.

Bought it used

No regrets at all. Many might say they wish they had a 5 speed, but I like my MR and I picked up a used 5 speed for dirt cheap just in case. That's what is so great about these cars

I had always wanted a turbo car and was about to do an SR20VE+T in my Primera before it was crashed into and written off... so i looked for something AWD and turbo from factory. It came down to the evo 7 or a V7 STI. Same price but the evo looked way better and was a lot faster.

What else did you consider when you were buying?
01-03 STI

Did you buy it new or used?
Used Evo 7 GSR

And do you have any regrets?
Selling said Evo 7 to buy an S2000. Was back in an evo a year later ... kinda miss the S2000 on sunny days though

Coming from 4 DSMs, I knew I wanted an Evo. Late model DSMs weigh almost the same as an Evo, But with 4 actual seats, and the performance (Evo) is better than cars costing 10x more.
I was also considering a late model Supra, but the fkn fast and furious movie.. makes the car sell 5x more than they are worth.
I got it used, all stock.
No regrets, even though it's an 03'..I always get compliments on the car, even from people who don't know what it is. That's a nice feeling for sure!

As the title says, what made you decide on buying an evo?
Drove a highschool buddies Evo back in 2005. Knew I had to have one after hitting boost the first time and playing around in some turns.

What else did you consider when you were buying?
STI 'cause I thought Evo's and the owners of Evo's were ****ty. SRT4 was on the list too until I drove an ACR and found it didn't excite me or like to take turns.

Did you buy it new or used?
Used with 17k miles.

And do you have any regrets?
I feel that there are some mods I should have done and some I shouldn't have done. A lot of good deals I let slip by on used parts.

As the title says, what made you decide on buying an evo?
Wanted AWD, always loved road-going versions of rally cars.

What else did you consider when you were buying?
Started looking at WRX's, realized the bottom fell out of STi pricing. Then I realized the bottom fell out of Evo pricing (compared to mid 20's where they were). They both became instant contenders.

Did you buy it new or used?
Used.

And do you have any regrets?
Overpaid slightly, justified it with logic from making money on my previous car sale. Still... Because WHITE.

Should have looked it over a bit more before purchase. had to throw about 2 grand more into it to get it all fixed up, but I am absolutely in love.

Looking to buy

I dont have one yet but Im looking to get an evo 8 ,9, or 10, but I have to sell my 06 GTO first, unless someone on here wanted to trade for my car, its a 408ci 6 speed, with est 545hp, for sale on gtoforum. and corvetteforum.

I want an evo because I want a lighter car that I can take to the track and road race 2 to 3 times a year.

I had an 06 Civic Si. I have a 9 year old son, then had my baby girl born and realized how much of a pain it was putting her in and out of the car seat in the back of an SI. I then found my WW IX, and was just going to run numbers. Next thing you know I bought it. No regrets what so ever. This is my favorite car I have ever owned, and strongly believe this car is hard to top.

I always liked the way they looked, but when my boy took me for a spin i had to get one! His only had a few bolt-ons and was very responsive! I've had many cars in my past and all I can say is i love Evo's now!!!!
