So last weekend myself and 2 other evom members installed GCS S1 cams on Jason's evo VIII, here are some pics......

Jason getting some...

and here is Brian and Jason taking a break

All in all it took 2-3 hours with beer and pizza break in between
BTW the car will be tuned Friday by TopSpeed I'm sure Jason is excited as hell he should make some decent power

Awesome. Post on evoa so other locals know.

I've always been afraid to do cams since I know if they are out of time it could get ugly (hence the zip ties)

i was debating between s1's and s2's.... i felt that i wanted to take advantage of the mid range power of this turbo (spools like stock) since that's where I typically am in the power band. this is a higher mileage car and i never really get it up past 6500 where the s2's would really shine. When I rebuild the motor I will get something really aggressive. For now, if I don't like the S1's, I'll pick up some valve springs, retainers, and s2's and see how those feel.

I will definitely take a couple videos of the dyno session.

S1's make a huge difference on stock sized turbos in the midrange. i remember when i first had them done on stock turbo, the cars midrange was awesome. night and day difference. enjoy them man. remember, its not all about peak numbers

Now with the new cams and retainers you feel any noise or tick?
