In your opinion.

Okay, so I finally got mine.
2006 MR. Bone stock other than a drop in K&N filter.
I'm new to the actual hands on of turning my car into a beast so what I'm asking all of you is to gimme a list of what parts you guys have and why you like them.
By this I mean manufacturer, capabilities and stability.
I'm trying to figure out what to get and where to start.
And please let's not turn this into a growling contest over who's set up is best.
I'm super excited to have this car and really want the communities input any guidance you all might be willing to share.
And if anyone is near Vancouver, B.C., Canada, lemme know, it's home now.
Thanks tonnes guys, can't wait to see what you all gotta say.

Of course it will turn into who is the best **** fest but... I am an ETS fan. IMO opinion they make the nicest cleanest parts in the business. Fitment is 100% and their CS is second to none.

However you won't go wrong with Buschur or AMS either

Haha, can't get pissy til at least 2 guys post. And disagree. However it creates an opportunity to be like big boys and rationally explain why one stream is yellower than another!

@ geevolution
I suspected there likely were but after a couple o hours of sifting through ancient posts I just figured it'd be easier to just start a thread.
If I get crapped on for it, well, my vagina isn't sandy so no worries.

Stock Frame Turbo upgrades: MAP EF4, BBk Full, FP Green/Red/Black
E85 if available.
If you are going to build the motor: OEM crank, Manley Turbo Tuff I Beam rods, Wiseco pistons
T3/T4 turbos: HTA 86/94, PTE 6262/6765
Swift springs and your MR bilsteins are fine. Anything over that would mean Ohlins, Bilstein PSS10's, JRZ, Mouton
Wheels are subjective
Exterior mods are subjective

You asked a very broad question I gave you a pretty broad answer.
What are your goals?

@ Smurfzilla
That's exactly the kinda answer I hope for. Gives me a focus for researching things on my own cause there are a zillion parts out there.
Why you choose those over other stuff is something I wanna know too.
And I haven't found E85 here but do get 94.

And as for my goals?
As I get more comfortable with the power that's there, add more power!
But I don't wanna be a retard and blow **** up.
So I shall defer to the more experienced and ask for help.

Just giving you a heads up lol

As for my mods:

HKS RS Intake (Best one available during the time I started to mod)
HKS 272/272 cams (Same)
AMS LICP (Same)
Turbo XS FMIC (Price was too good to pass up since it was a group buy)
Hallman Pro MBC (Switched since the stepper motor on my Blitz SBC died)
Evo IX BOV (Greddy RS had a bad diaphragm)
Evo 6.5 RS TME Turbo (IX's didn't exist yet, spools quicker than the stock VIII turbo)
Trust UICP (Not many to choose from back then)
PTE 1200cc injectors (Suggested by tuner)
Walbro 255 Fuel pump (Almost everyone uses this)
Invidia o2 housing (largest one I saw when I started to mod)
Invidia Downpipe (Only one that mates with the Invidia o2 Housing)
Ultimate Racing testpipe (Only test pipe that bolted on without causing the SES/CEL light to come on)
Fujitsubo RM01A Catback (quietest aftermarket exhaust there was)
HKS Carbon Ti (Tired of being quiet)
Greddy Ti-C (Wanted the shiny canister)
GT Spec Exhaust Manifold (One of the 2 available for the CT9A back then)
Blacked out Headlights (Chrome was ugly, and JDM's were too expensive)
Depo JDM MR style Taillights (wanted the amber and JDM's were too expensive)
IX Front bumper and SE Lip (Tired of the VIII look)
JDM 7/8 Rear Bumper (Hated the USDM one and EVERYONE has the JDM IX Rear)

I'm forgetting some stuff probably, but it's probably not important.

As you have a stock IX, I'd suggest T-bolt clamps, a TBE, a MBC, and a great tune. That's it. You'll be quicker than 95% of what's out there and have a reliable car that's a lot of fun to drive. Good luck.

I agree with FJF. I would start with the little stuff and go from there. TBE, MBC/ EBC, Intake, Tune, and T-bolt clamps would be a great start. To go full on crazy right off the bat might lead to bad things if you don't have a lot of experience with working on these cars. Also you need to watch the kind of power you are making with that 6 spd MR tranny. They aren't as forgiving as the 5 spds. Most guys swap out the 6 spd for a 5 spd when they start making a lot of power.
