The rs models have the aluminum roof, and trunk correct?

 

the two whites do have a difference, i wanted to trade trunks with some another evo owner and our cars were different color, i think wicked white is more of a vanilla color

 

The RS, MR and SE trims all have an aluminum roof, but I don't believe any Evo models have an aluminum trunk lid. I think they all used a light weight steel trunk lid, other members correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I believe only RS and MR have aluminum roof , not SE !

 

I know SE has an aluminum roof, I bought mine new and it lists it right on the dealer window sticker. Also magnet doesn't stick to the roof either.

 

Yup I have an SE and know for sure it has an aluminum roof. Man evom sure has a lot of false info. Lol

 

AFAIK, just the red and the white 03-04 paint is single stage. Don't know about the 05. Single stage has nothing to do with paint looking dull, nor is it somehow a mark of lesser quality, nor is what you refer to as a base coat even remotely similar to the base/clear process. Often, non-metallic/non-pearl paint is single stage. The paint looks dull, because the owner didn't order the self-maintaining paint option.

For those curious about their cars, it's very easy to tell whether the paint is single stage or base/clear. Open your trunk, pull back the trim and look at the paint underneath. If it looks just like the paint on the outside of the car, it's single stage. If it looks almost flat, it's base/clear.

 

Yes, it can be very frustrating. If you don't know for sure, don't frucking post. How difficult is this?
