Put in Sunroof or Not?

I purchase a 03 Evo today.(Black) It didnt come with a sunroof, so i asked about a aftermarket one through Mitsu. and they just added to the invoice. Now im home. Im tryin to decide if i should follow through and let them do the sunroof- I would like the sunroof- but ... . i was wondering what would they do if i decide not to get it done. Do i get the value back(from sunroof?)

-thanks for input

I personally wouldn't because I wouldn't want to give up the structural rigidity or the headroom it eats up. I'd also be even more worried about leaks than with a factory roof. That's just me though. You need to do what you want. If you do decide to cancel you should get your money back and don't let them forget to also reduce the taxes and any other fees that would go down due to the lower purchase price.

will you really use it? in my performance oriented mind, a sunroof just means a less rigid body and more weight but it's a nice luxury..but i dont think i'd use it to its fullest. it's all your opinion.

EDIT: er i didnt mean opinion..what was i thinking..i meant decision. it's your decision in the end

I love sunroofs, wouldn't buy a car without one...however, if you want one in an EVO, just buy one that has it. An aftermarket one is gonna suck and will kill its resale value to boot...

I personnally prefer no sunroof (I'm filipino...already have a tan. lol). My Evo came with one and would have to wait a month to get one without. So when I was just out the door, the dealer gave me the car and just let me have the sunroof for free. Oh ya to your question, if it's not factory sunroof, don't get it. I am 100% sure you will run into problems later down the line.

I agree, I love sunroofs but however in your case you already purchased the car that doesn't have factory installed sunroof I'd say just deal with it and leave it as it is.
And about the value that you paid for the sunroof I am pretty sure that you can still get it back just tell them that you've had serious problem with sunroofs from one of your previous cars and don't want it anymore. And if you really can't get it anymore just apply it to an extended warranty or something and yeah accessories. Well anyway good luck!
