I never blew my engine just decided to get it built...with that said I am always afraid it's gonna pop. For no reason at all as it was built by the best but I think if you have a built motor and don't have some fear of it blowing then you don;t love your car enough.

im always paranoid. i built my motor myself and i had never done it before. ive got 20k on it and every time i hear something i look over the car the next time i get out. i have a sound now that im trying to figure out. ask my tuner (chad CBRD) how horrible i am any time my car is on the dyno. haha i just expect it to blow up. i dont think it will ever go away for me anyway.

For me, I gain more and more confidence after every 2,500-8,000 RPM sprint...!

On the stock block using an FP Red at 520 hp, I had no worries about it blowing. That was pushing 32 psi on E85. Now with my built 2.3 using the 6466 at 40 psi, it's about to pass 800 hp and I feel nervous every time I go WOT. Realistically, I'm probably at no greater risk now. I'm sure it's basically due to all the time and money that is put into it. On the stock block, I knew that if it blew, I'd just build a new engine. 4G64 cores aren't too expensive if I blew it apart. Now, I'm paranoid about catastrophic failures that take out everything at once. It doesn't help that my car makes a million different oddball noises, and I noticed that I drive more now with the stereo off. Overall, I don't regret my decision to build it.

Lol, the first time I blew an ic pipe I almost pissed myself because it ran so rich that the car would barely run, good thing I was only a few minutes from my house. About 30 seconds after it happened I thought if I had really broken something it wouldn't have even been idling at all.

My built motor is very noisy. It's always been noisy. I used to freak out and get my stethoscope out to listen to it at different spots. After a while I just decided I wasn't going to worry about it. If it blows, it blows and I'll deal with it then. No sense in wasting energy worry about something. My motor does like oil, but I think most of them do. I just make sure to keep her topped off and run heavier weight oil to try to keep it happy.

definitely hear this. previous motor was very noisy, but was confirmed by many big named shops that it was normal. didnt burn any oil so it stopped bothering me.

I bought a 3year/36xxx mile warranty on the engine/transmission so I don't have to worry, but my engine isn't built.

Sadly haven't got to enjoy my car this year at all. 1st or 2nd AutoX event early this year and my turbo blew. Replaced it with a FP DBB Red. Figured it would be a straight forward tune. Had a ton of tuning issues. Mainly knock that wouldn't go away regardless of how the tune was set and even using race gas. It's been throwing codes like crazy saying the fuel pump/injector/front o2 sensor were bad which theoretically is possible but the logging says otherwise.

Mini battery just "died" so I'm hoping that was the source of my gremblins, but I've had the car to 3 or 4 events this year and basically no driving around. This year just sucked. Makes you want to sell the car since it's not being enjoyed. I did get a new mini battery on order and hope that was the source of my electrical issues since it just up and died even while on a battery tender.
