mini batteries are a joke. i had the ams kit and anytime i used my ac the car would die randomly. when it did die i would then get cel for front o2 and ign. once the battery finally died i went back to stock and havent had an issue since.

Yeah I'm probably going to have to figure something out. I had good luck with my original Buschur mini battery. Lasted 3 years. When it died because of an electrical short, I replaced it with a mini battery from Summit Racing. That was this year and it only lasted maybe 5months. So i'm going to try the battery from Buschur again and see what happens. If I have the same issues I'm going to figure out a way to do a full size battery for next year.

Just started my new built motor/completely new turbo setup last night for the first time in 3 months. 5 months of collecting parts and countless amounts of money... it was the greatest thing ever...

However after the base tune was put on and we went for a drive, every noise I was "what was that" but was reassured by my tuner, and I was over analyzing everything!

I am the same way. I get nervous about it popping. I have owned rotary motors and a Subaru so I have had some bad luck.

I'm always worried but thats because my car has been a nightmare of issues caused by me trusting the wrong people. Funny enough its been the only bright spot.

We'll see how it goes for round.

Wow totally missed this thread.

My boom happened when I was going 25mph.

I downshifted to second went WOT and bang, bloop, bloop, rpms dropping, oh ****, comeon get off the road, **** wont crank back up, check couplers all good, call tow truck. The famous missing piece of piston

Now that I have 4K miles on my new build I'm so afraid to go WOT even though i'm tuned and its ready for it. most of the time i only hit about 15lbs of boost before i shift. Setup for 26lbs

If it is built right you shouldnt have to worry. Honestly, I have more fear on that first pull up to redline after messing with any of the timing components. Even though I've done it numerous times its still a nail biter for me.

I am waiting to put a new built motor in my 8 right now after the piston disappeared at 6k rpm. I am worried as hell putting a new one in as its quite the hit to the bank account and its my dd. How long should a build motor last at like 550hp

Sounds like your mini battery was just crap!

I've had no problems with my small battery in my 8. It's not a garage queen either.

my mini ams battery has been fine, but I do use the tender if it sits for a few days. I don't get nervous with my built engine but do keep an eye on gauges more often than when driving any other normal car
