It is normal for the car to vibrate with lopey cams. Especially the steering wheel and dash area.

Mine vibrates a bit more, but not a lot. Get it tuned, and your idle should smooth out significantly.

try throwing in an ingalls torque dameper, and some ams poly mounts and then come back and tell us how much it vibrates. at idle my boost gauge, which is mounted to the steering column, the needle looks like a guitar string when plucked it vibrates so much. its almost annoying. you will get use to it though in time, unless you tune the lope out. i however prefer mine to stomp the ground.

i went from hks 272's to Forced Performance FP4r's and noticed a siginifcant vibration increase. like mentioned above normal due to the aggressive nature of the cams...

I'll agree that aftermarket cams will make your car vibrate and idle a lot more rough. A tune makes a slight difference, but you'll still be much more rough and sound a lot more louder than stock for sure.

Its normal. You can raise the idle up and adjust timing to smooth it out at idle. Vibration is really noticeable with the balance shafts deleted. Borderline annoying for a dd.

I am thinking about getting cams installed on my Evo. From the research I have completed, looks like the HKS 272's are the way to go for my set up(stock turbo). I am a bit concerned about the vibration thing, but it appears that this is more of an issue on the more aggressive cams required with bigger turbo set ups?

GSC S2 or Kelford 272...HKS is pretty mild.

what he said ^

i went with the s2s because I got a really good deal on em and theyre the best cams for my setup...

BTW I've been driving with these cams a bit today and it WREAAAKS of gasoline... I've had a testpipe on my car for a few months now but with the addition of these cams I think I'm getting high off the fumes in my car

I recently switched from HKS 272's to S2's. I have to admit that those HKS's were a nice and smooth cam with no additional vibration. You'll be limited power wise, but those are a good cam for a DD. I only upgraded to get more power and I'm not sure it was worth sacrificing the smoother ride.

^off topic but If you want to stick with hks, look into the step 2 cams (274in/278exh).

OP, dont get on it it too hard without a tune, and enjoy the new cams
