I do everything but machining. Of course extra hands are always nice.

1. I don't trust shops seen some real shady stuff over the years
2. I know 100% whats been done to the car
3.I save money.

That said there are only 2 shops in the NE within a reasonable distance that I would feel 100% at ease with them having my car

STM and CBRD

Ah so you're probably somewhat mechanically inclined? Shouldn't be too hard for you, I'd say go for it! I just learned how to change my oil 2 months ago... and I did cams a few days ago... pretty big jump lol

I live 100 miles from the nearest dealer. The same is true for my second car, a WRX. No private shop in this town (50,000 population) has ever seen an Evo. I drive the only one. With all that in mind, I had better be willing and able to tackle anything that comes along.

i try to do all i can do myself its hard to find a shop that u can trust and that wont mess something up. Ive had to many things go bad and its alot better feeling to know that what you wanted done was done right and having a buddy with an evo that knows every nut and bolt helps fill in the gaps

I just do up to normal easy maintenance and the occasional tougher project.
