(not idling properly need HELP!!!) have power fc and on cold start i have problems, have to play with the pedal to get it started then revs up to 3g. when worm at the lights it hunts up to 1500 then to 900. sametimes i can get it to stop if i take my foot off the brack or tap the acc.
with STOCK ECU NO Problems. have done a idle tune properly still the same (hard to do at start have to play with acc). its been tuned 2 times, told tuner and still the same.

this happened to my evo 8. couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. vacuum leak??

 

check your IAC also

 

+2 on this. Check the IAC motor. I had the same issue and this is what it was

checked my iac what good and clean the body it starts good but still hunts

 

here is how I solved my problem: (my car was so bad that it took 3 attempts to start and would not stay running at stop signs) I had to feather the throttle a lot.

replaced the air idler servo
removed and cleaned the EGR valve
adjusted the idle screw
removed & cleaned the throttle body
checked all vacuum hoses

My car now idles perfect.......
