This has been bugging me since I bought the car. I was told that the evo was a IX SE. It has the red stiched reccaros, and it has the SE lip. It didnt have the BBS black diamond wheels (this doesnt bother me that much, very easily swapped), and the MR alluminum roof.

So when I went to research the SE I saw that it is actually the MR SE...correct? That means the six speed tranny. I have the 5.

Was I dooped? Did this kid really replace the interior and roof of the car to sell it as an SE? or am I just an idiot and other IXs have the same options available.

There is an SE and MR SE. Call the dealership and give them your VIN. They can tell you which one you have.

If you are planning on modding your car passed 400tq, the 5 speed really saves you some hastle.

 

Is your roof aluminum? But +1 to just calling the dealership and giving them the VIN...they will tell you everything you need to know.

 

The only difference between the SE and MR SE is the MR has the 6-speed, vortex generator and Bilsteins.

 

iirc both the se and mr have bilsteins

so the only diff should be the tranny, seat stitching color, lip, wheel color, and vg

 

The regular SE's don't have Bilsteins, they share the KYB's with the other non-MR trims. And the MR "SE" is more of an appearance package than a trim, as it adds the red-stitched seats and other stuff on top of what the MR already has, like an aluminum roof and HIDs.
