So due to a retard in my lane I wrecked the evo after owning it 2 weeks, not much damage went off a small bank, busted windshield due to airbags, needs bumper, radiator, intercooler.. I doubt the insurance company will total loss it unless it's because of the airbags, my question is, if they happen to and I buy the car back, how much would it be to fix the airbag deal, or if its possible? Thanks.

Post pics of the damage and we might be able to tell you what you need to get replaced. But you better off taking it to a body shop. How fast where you going and what exactly did you hit?

Also depending on your insurance they might just end up totalling it.

 

Was going about 35mph ran off a small cliff, like I said the body damage is just radiator, bumper, intercooler, windshield... the only thing that worries me is the airbags, that is my question, are they fixable once they blow out... and how much.

your going to end up paying about 500 per air bag. once they go off you have to replace it all. minus well hit the forums and see if you can get them from some one else doing a part out.

 

do you have to replace the whole dash or what? 500 a peice isnt as bad as I was expecting I thought it would be a couple grand fix.

usually its considered totaled when the bags blow. that looks to be in the 7 to 8k dollar range worth of damage. new bumper, windshield, dash, airbags, ic, ic piping, radiator, core support looks to be trashed and bent. did it not bust the condensor as well?

i could be wrong and them not total it cuz you didnt state the mileage or year. anything is fixable if you have the money. sucks to see this. the part out section will be your best friend.

 

Believe it or not man, it didn't even touch the IC piping. I couldn't believe it didn't roll it. Felt like mike tyson delivered a blindside to me when that airbag hit me though. Insurance agents suppose to contact me today. I only paid 14k for the car, they gotta give me full retail which is 13900ish then minus the deductable then whatever it cost to buy it back.. I'll put the whole car up for sale on ebay or something, or fix it myself. I've seen worse sell for 9k-10k on ebay.
