Looking For Some Input

Hey there EvoM. I just purchased my first evo and am new to the forums. My intro and pics of car can be found here >

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-owner-oh.html

And for those who don't want to click the link I drive a 2005 EVO GSR non SSL!

So here is my question/questions after doing a bit of research and now just want too get some clarification. So here is my goal. I would like to have atlease a 350awhp daily evo that will last. In this next section I am gonna list the mods that I think can achieve that without any problem. And I will put footnotes next too the things that need a little clarification. Here we go!!

(My car already has an intake and tbe)

FP Green ported w/ 18psi wastegate actuator (I dont want too stray too far from stock and I heard the FP reds have some reliability issues)
Ported and Coated Stock Mani
UICP,LICP, and Front Mount ( A good brand too go with would be great, I read 3" is best for daily upgrade?)
Walboro 255 fuel pump
AMS Small Battery Kit
If necessary too get the power I am looking to get these are next on the part List:

S1 Cams
Cam Gears
New belts
APR Head Studs

And outside of that these mods will be added as well:

Boost Gauge
A/F Wideband
Electronic Boost Controller
Turbo Timer
Shifter Bushings (Under Hood and Base)

And the final thing for these mods is the tune:

Tactrix Cable w/ AMS Flash

I am open too all tuning suggestions because that is not my forte if you will.

So that's it guys and gals. All your input is greatly appreciated for this evo noobie. And if I am way off or just sound like an idiot please say so, but please be respectful. Thanks!! - Jason

350 awhp is very easy on the stock turbo. My IX made 371awhp on 26psi and stock turbo. With a fp green and supporting mods you will easily achieve your 350 goal. Cams will be a big help to, good choice with the s1's as they have really good drivability. With the mods you listed on your list, depending on your tune, you should see around 400-420awhp no problem.

My car's making 331hp/326tq right now and this is what's on the car:

Evo 9 BOV (If you still have the plastic 8 BOV, I'd get this first)
Buschur Racing Turbo Back Exhaust (straight pipe)
Buschur Racing Deluxe Ver. Intercooler
ETS Upper and lower pipe
Walbro 255
Hallman boost controller
27psi
To get the car to ~350, I'd need:
Perrin air intake
ported exhaust and intake manifold
GSC/Kelford cam if I want to push it pass 350.

If you're going to spend money on the cams, don't waste time with the s1's and throw in s2's instead. You will not notice a difference in drive-ability

I made 384 on stock turbo @ 28psi with TBE, O2 housing, 1000cc Injectors, Intake, Kelford 272/272 Cams on 91. I would try and see what the car can make without swapping turbos first cuz you would be surprised how much the stock turbo can make.

He will not need a double pumper on a green. A simple walboro 255 will be fine.

350 awhp you do not need a double pumper. Double pumpers depend on what fuel type, what turbo size, injectors, and hp levels.

Thanks guys lovin the input. I just want to go to the FP green. It's just a little step above the stock turbo I know but has some great perks I have read. And I am Really trying to keep the boost around 22-23 psi if at all possible. And I want it to be a solid psi, I dont like that it drops back to like 17. Is that a tuning thing? And some input on the tune/flash would be great!!

Boost spike doesn't go by the tune. Boost spike is from the internal waste gate in the stock frame turbos. An o2 dump will deffinetly help you with boost spike and add horsepower.

Holy buckets there's a lot of people missing things in here.

1. Welcome.

2. All of those people saying you can make this hp or that hp on the stock turbo, you have Evo IX's... this is the 8.5! Thats a big difference.

3. To make that kind of power is completely do-able. My word of advice though is... don't listen to too many opinions (mine included) because many people will say one thing and many others will say the exact opposite. Find a tuner that you like, seek their advice, and take it with a grain of salt.

One persons power on one dyno is totally different than another persons power on the same dyno, or another dyno. Basically... its all relative.

heres my input, take it with a grain of salt bc im just another rando guy on the forums.

FP Green: Great turbo choice. Excellent street turbo with good transient response. You can EASILY achieve 350whp with the stock turbo, but if you want the green get the HTA variant and it will push you up around 400whp.

Ported and coated stock mani is good. save some money and good performance.

FMIC/LICP/UICP is good. Go with a 3.8 inch (i prefer garret cores but do some reading on here and choose for yourself). UICP is mostly for show, doesnt give much power. I replaced mine since my stock one was starting to show its age. LICP is good, choose and reputable brand (I have JMF and love it): Buschur, AMS, ETS etc. 2.5 inch is good.

Walbro 255 for sure

Small battery kit is preference. If you go traditional UICP you will need one. I prefer full size battery, so I had CBRD make me a beautiful piece that utilizes stock battery with new tray. Amazing piece, PM me if you want details.

If your going cams, i agree with the above poster and go S2s instead of S1s. more power, driveability is fine. get valvetrain to go along with them.

cams gears arent necessary IMO but up to you.

Head studs for sure: ARP or the new MAP ones are quality. Belts if you are at that point/mileage.

get a proper dyno/road tune if you can.

with these mods you will easily have a 400whp DD thats reliable and super fun for the street.

gl with your build and congrats on the purchase

edit: 02 dumps are highly debateable. they sound amazing, and supposedly help with boost creep/spool etc. Many of the top tuners (wont mention names) do not think they make the power for the money, and opt for a normal style 02 housing. others show gains in top end power. up to you and the cops where you live. a works 02 has very good flow, or any other manufacturer will be fine. please just dont buy ebay, support the shops that support us.
