Quality HID Thread (for non-HID Evos)
So I've heard. They do get VERY hot. How was the install? Is it stock ish?
http://www.philipsxenon.com/ I got this kit for my wife's car and it's been great. If you are thinking about getting a 55w kit, then you will want to find out where the particular kit that you are looking at draws it's power. Most kits pull the power from the factory harness. A few kits pull the power direct from the battery and use relays which are triggered but the stock harness. If the kit pulls the power from the stock harness, what is the rating of the stock harness? The 55w kits can often overdraw the stock harness causing the insulation to melt and shorts and fire ensue. Just something to consider. I would also recommend the 4300 bulbs as they put out the most light that our eyes are more sensitive to.

I picked up a kit from www.sharphid.com for my Lexus a little over a year ago. They work flawless and were very reasonably priced.
We have the JLC HID kit thats from Japan that will not flicker or having any power up issue at all!

I had the 9006 bulb DDM 55W 5000k on my non HID mazdaspeed for 2 years and they were flawless. I am about to get the same one for my evo. they were at 80% brightness at 3 second and went to 100% at 5 seconds. pefrect white color which is easy on the eyes, does not disperse into oncoming traffic and is really bright on pavement gray.
I got mine from this place which has them starting at $39 but I would get the wiring kit upgrade if you are going with the 55watts.

don't worry that its says mazda. its the same exact kit, even the wiring upgrade, just pick the right bulb.
also having HIDs for highbeam is not practical. maybe it works in movies. when you want quick highbeams to see something in an emergency, the HID will be less bright than a regular bulb.
