Install bc272 or Gsc s2
So before I get flamed hear me out first. So I already have a set of he'd s2s and I have beehive valvetrain. A couple of days ago my friend will sold me his bc that he was going to throw away for 60$ currently im having a separate head port and polished etc so I figure I should just throw in the bc for the f of it. My question is should I just put in the gsc's with stock valvetrain or put in the bf. Car has a hta86 kit on it right now. Also if a moderator wants to throw this in off topic go ahead. Just want some opinions. Will there be any gain from stock cams to the bc with my set up?
I'm confused by this post. So you have both sets of cams, but neither is installed? If you have the GSC's why would you throw the BC's in for the "f" of it?? That doesn't make any sense to me. The GSC is most certainly the superior cam. Unless you're planning on using the BC and selling the GSC to recoup some of the money so you can build the head, that's the only viable option where using the BC over the GSC makes any sense. At least to me.
Edit: read it again. If you are having another head ported and polished, why not take the GSC's and beehive valvetrain that you currently have and put it in the new head? That would be much better than the BC's.

Yes I have both cams but the valvetrain is going into my built head so currently my car will be running factory valve train. And I know the gsc are better but I don't want to install the valvetrain in the factory head.
Bc cams barley made anything over stock cams. S2's are awesome cams, I run them myself. Why not upgrade your springs when you do cams since the heads off? Running stock springs on s2's will hurt you up top because your either going to break a spring or float a valve. And bc's on stock springs are the same as stock cams.
Do it right the first time. Buy springs and do the s2's

Basically the cams were 60 dollars the brian crowers so I didn't care about picking them up I can always make the money back. What im really trying to ask is is it worth putting the bc272s in. Or if im in there just put the s2s in under stock valvetrain. The head that's being built won't be put on until march. So I will be driving the car on a daily basis

Eh guess ill put them in wont hurt anything plus its something to do thanks for the info guys. Just for the hell of it il do a dyno run with stock cams and see if there's any difference
So BC cams are kinda a fail if you spend more then $200 bucks. If you get them for a deal like me eh idk if the work was worth 18 hp but the car def feels peppier. And it spools a lil quicker. So I guess it was worth it. oh and im a fat *** I do weigh 280 pounds and its a SSL
oh yeah for sixty dollars **** cant beat it. Im pretty happy. This was with no retune, Retuned it later on since its hitting higher load cells these aren't too damn bad. Was able to get 420 out of it. on 23 psi
Eh to put it simply I have GSC S2 cams and valvetrain thats going into a built head. I was gonna throw the S2 cams into a stock head with no valvetrain but I got a set of BC272s for 60 bucks. After reading some threads about NOT putting S2's in with stock valvetrain I figured Ide put in the brian crowers for the time being to give me something to do. So I did. And posted up the results. End of Confusion!
