Fuel Injectors then Tune

Can I put on put FIC 1050cc injectors and drive 30 miles to get it retuned?
I have basic bolt ons and a tune already, but I am looking for a bit of upgrade and touch up.

Do I need to buy an aftermarket boost solenoid in order to turn up the boost?

Thanks

I would not recommend it. When I went to go get my tune, i installed my injectors in the parking lot before my appointment so that all they had to do was drive the car to the dyno bay. It will start, but it will put put everywhere until the tune. Take a ratchet set and some needle noses, along with a couple towels, and you can do them all in about half an hour or less. It was well worth it.

I had 750cc injectors and upgraded to 1200cc injectors for my tune. Drove 10 miles and made it fine. It didn't want to idle as it was dumping fuel into the engine

You can also just install them prior to your tune when you get there if you're worried...

The shop wanted $75 for installing injectors and I dont want to waste money at the moment because I only have a temp job working 1 day a week.

I also dont want them to yell at me for working on my car in their parking lot. Maybe I can park on the street and do it. Can I drive a few blocks without a tune?

Anyone know should I buy a boost solenoid or not? I want to get the most power out of my stock turbo without E85 and I am going with larger injectors in case my area gets E85 stations.

Probably not a good idea because you could wash out your cylinders

Get to their lot at 5:30 AM and do it before they open.

I was in the same situation a few years ago. After installing the injectors my friend scaled them using laptop and Tactrix cable. Then I drove like 40 miles to GST in Hayward to get it tuned.

It will not upset them, just install them in the parking lot. Tell them that you are already buying a tune and that you know how to install the injectors. Its worth saving 80 bucks, trust me. If they have a problem with it than they are not the right shop for you. If you drive over there with the injectors, your car will drive like crap and you will cook your cat.

Fuel rail is 2 bolts to hold it on and 4 bolts to hold the fuel line/FPR. The hardest part for me was to keep from dropping the lower orings on the injector. I must of dropped it like 6 times. I was about to pull an incredible hulk on it. I used a smaller 1/4 in ratchet with a short and deep socket 10mm for the fuel lines and a 12mm for the fuel rail its self. I also used a short and deep on the fuel rail do the the return fuel line brackets.
