Considering selling my Z06 to buy another EVO....
Go to a TTA or PTA NASA race. Take a look at what stock suspension Z06s can do. Handling better - you just think that. Evo needs a fair amount of work and upgrades to compete against a Vette. That's not some opinion. That's racing. What you are looking for is something you can modify as a hobby. You're real complaint is that you can't just throw money at a Vette for s/g's. In which, get a Honda Civic. You can **** away all the money you want on a car like that.
The Z06 is a fantastic driving machine not for the faint of heart. I guarantee that you have not even utilized the car to half of its capabilities.
I also agree with the point on buying a Civic. You probably shouldn't have bought a Z06 if you wanted something that you can **** tens of thousands of dollars away on--based on whatever aftermarket bandwagon/circlejerk is occurring on forums--at your own pace and pay $250/month for. You also shouldn't have bought a Z06 if you want something that will correct errors in your driving by having fancy AWD technologies.
I love my Evo to death and have an unhealthy attachment to it, but I'm still a "petrol head" and appreciate other species of cars. If you want a sedan with a huge aftermarket that sticks to the road without a need for a skilled driver, get back in the CT9A.
Also, what Evo owner complains about the Z06 interior? Or any interior, for that matter!

They were my words. I've driven the car. Your words were in quotes as per the rules of language.
You see, once again you put one in a position where he has to argue a negative. Whatever you say, I guess. If we can't agree the the 03 Z06's steering is vague and uncommunicative compared to the CT9A, and that's putting it rather mildly, there's no reason for us to be having this discussion. You might as well insist that your '03 Z06 runs on fairy bubbles and flooby dust; 'tiss the beauty of the Internet.
Now you want to debate "real racing," because the racing honors gathered by the Evolution must somehow be fake racing. Tell us all again why you continue with this?
<grin> That was hardly the point. You told a known Evolution owner, on an Evolution forum no less, to enjoy his car. Kinda obvious, don't you think?
ou really love to stretch my words. The steering is a bit heavy, but not vague. Turn in on the evo is much better, that doesn't make it handle better. The evo has one of, if not the highest, steering ratio in a production car.
Let me know when your better handling car starts competing in real racing, like le mans against porches and ferraris, and then you can tell me its better. But what do those professional driver, idiots know amiright?
Oh and yes, this is an evo forum, just cause you own an evo doesn't mean you can't aspire to want another car. After driving a 430 scuderia I would sell my vette in a second if i didnt have to remortgage my house.

i have a tastefully modded 04 for sale if interested. PM me for specifics....and i love the black Z06....ive been watching the market and have looked at getting one. ive actually went and looked at the new GrandSport....and man...its a better deal than the Z....
Man, what a disaster. This is such a subjective thread.
I agree that the Evo is a great handling car, especially given it's weight. But handling does not equal !fast necessarily. Look at the Elise/Exige. I've never driven another production car that is even close to that (handling) league, but if you compare laptimes with it and other cars on certain tracks, it doesn't mean it is slower because it handles worse.
I have no qualm admitting that Vettes are racecars. They don't dominate SCCA for nothing. To me, this has more to do with the vast rubber they will accept, the fact they are RWD, and are close to 50:50 weight distribution. It's more balance and winning ingredients than exceptional handling.
Since we're on an Evo forum, it's logical that there would be a lot of Evo lovers and people defending it. Many of us aren't able to be on the track all the time, or even more to the point: Have families. A two door coupe is completely impractical for me with two kids. I couldn't take them to school, and I'm not independently wealthy to be able to have racecar, be able to have time to race it, and maintain a daily driver.
All I do is commute anyway.
In short, a Vette is way more of a racetrack star than an Evo, but that is not because of it's "great handling prowess", or because it's even a better handler than an Evo. It's because racecar.

im honestly in shock.... dont get me wrong i love my evo, and i've had numerous times when i thought about selling it for another car, but $75,000 dollar Z06 cant compare to your old evo 8 or 9 ???? wow..... well whatever your decision is please keep us updated.
I'm in a position right now I'm thinking about trading my 535whp Evo 8 for my friends 01 z06 that's bolt-ons, cam, and n2o. I have alllllways loved Vettes and have always wanted one, something always distracts me while I'm looking for one though... i.e. the Evo, the Trans Am i had, the 300zx TT i had. haha I love my Evo because even on slow mode (428whp on 91oct) I'm making just a touch more than the z06 is on motor but there has always been something about the Vettes that has had my heart.

That sounds like an awful idea.

Intelligent arguments aside, I don't think the OP was talking about either car from a track perspective. Track ****'s come out in droves when it comes to threads like this when the fact of the matter is I'm willing to bet more then half of the Evo owners (or Z06 owners for that matter) barely, rarely/if ever, track their cars competitively. I'm not talking once a year to have fun.....I'm talking at least 4-6 events a year at least and only mod for the sake of making their car more track ready.
Most of us are car enthusiasts that like various different types of motorsports (AX, track, Drag strip, etc), that drive our track inspired vehicles on the street.
There is nothing wrong with that.
To the OP I see a lot of people sell their Evo's for various reasons and then come back because there is something undeniably special about these little 4 bangers. Looks are subjective, performance while great for what it is can be improved upon for not that much to make it hard to beat in a lot of different scenarios.
Sounds like you want an Evo again and are looking for more opinions to justify coming back. You should throw a poll up and try to attract more Evo owners that either had one, sold it and bought another again or had something else close to what you have and come to the dark side for the first time.
And about the Evo not rotating well enough, I thought it was common knowledge that the Evo came neutered from the factory (rear LSD plates arranged wrong and acted like a open diff), Once you re-orient the plates and (even better do the 12 plate upgrade for relatively in-expensive) the ability to rotate becomes moot.
Anyways carry-on.
