engine problems

I have a problem...

ill start with the mods:

EVO8: 93500 miles, new plugs, im also just about due for an oil change

MODS: cams, intake, exhaust, no cat, Perrin fuel rail, HKS EVC Boost controller, Apexi SAFC 2, Turbo XS UTEC, AEM A/F gauge, Blitz turbo timer

my problem is intermitten, when i step on the gas to accel between 60-85 MPH at around 3000 RPM, with only 20-30% throttle. The engine begins to spudder, that is what i can hear. visually there is no smoke no over heating, A/F gauge during the spuddering moves over 17 and then dropps out like it is getting to much air not enough fuel. My A/F ratio is uselly between 14.5 -15.9 until under heavier load then i run 11.5-13.1. I know my A/F gauge is working correctly in its read outs. to me its seems like its a fuel problem but i need advise since this is my first turbo car

please help out if you can

Hey,

First, definitely ditch the AFC. These were good way back in the day.

Do yourself a favor and get a Tactrix cable / evoscan / ecuflash. This way you can adjust the parameters in the ECU itself instead of relying on a piggyback.

Read this post, it will give you a much better understanding of how to tune an Evo:

What cams are you currently running? I may be able to give you a base map.

Also, where are you in PA? If your close enough I would go see Chad@CBRD. They are a top notch shop and they will take care of you.

Congrats on getting married

I might have a basemap I can send you later in order to get you pointed in the right direction.

How much boost are you currently running?

One last question. What injectors are you using?

What did you gap the plugs at? I had a similar experience and it was spark related.

The plugs are new and gap according to thr book base on the video I posted and the air fuel going to high it sounds like a lack of fuel. Not sure
