HORRRRRIBLE E85 gas mileage (~10mpg)

come on!!!!! i gave you the area to dig at.. i just didnt wanna spoon feed you the info.
thats what i want you to do.. experiment so you see what your car wants..
if you have your fuel trims dialed in properly and STFT is all good, and the map reflects actual realistic values per afr etc and if it still jumps from 13's to 15's at cruise thats a good sign the o2 sensor is goin out or theres something else missing in the setup hardware wise screwing with the closed loop operation of the ecu.
my car is in closed loop, nothing crazy.. mine goes from 14.4 to 15.5 cruising.. never seen it hit 13 before.. somethings definitely off there.
look at your fuel map .. do you see 9,10,11,12 etc on the right hand portion? if so its normal.
do you see 12,13 + and nothing lower? if so its wrong.. that is a fuel map making up for improperly scaled injectors (Global fueling / injector size) granted the maf tables weren't jacked with.
also keep in mind im posting this for all, not directing it to you 05VIII, just quoting your guess.
another thing.. do you have a steady throttle position when cruising on highway? or are u constantly off and on the gas? if you watch your wideband your foot pressure has a lot to do with what afr it hoovers at in closed loop operation.

The hardest part for me driving on E85 is that I want to smash on my car everywhere. I really cannot help it. Every time I see a bridge, I just have to go WOT under it
. I am sure I loose some serious MPG with that.
ts, are you getting 300+ to a tank?

i probably get 100 to a tank when i take the car out tho any other time. i am just like you .. smash gas when given the chance and i live in the country pretty much with lots of open road so i am WOT 99% of the time the cars out
i have no idea what i get anymore. in 2010 when i drove from pa to ohio for the shootout i made it there on 1 tank of e85 almost. all paid toll interstate driving at a set mph. about a 400 mile trip one way. didnt need to refill more then once.. i started the trip on full tank and only had to fill up 6 gal additional so i know it was up there in good mpg.
when i was breaking in my exedy triple not to long ago it took me forever just to burn half a tank and that was tons of city driving stop and go traffic to break the clutch in. so i know it gets pretty good mpg.. it definitely gets over 250 on highway.
but i never really sat down and measured the mpg i get.
ill tell you i burned 2 full tanks of e85 in 1 day already. thats how bad i beat my car when i take it out. living in country has its benefits.

I just think its time for a new tune
