What did you pay?
theres a way to do it with the chemicals. it requires a black trash bag to cover the outside and spraying inside or something. im not too sure, i just tried scraping ahha and that was a fail. ever since i did that on my old car along time ago i just pay to have the pros do it with chemicals. just gotta make sure to ask about their method of tint removal.
Got mine done for $110 all windows. $20 more for visor strip but that's not my thing. This guy does everyone's in my town. Such a good deal. And guarantees his work for life.
No. I have been researching everything for a couple of weeks now and a friend of mine says they make a kit u can buy if you screw them up that u can paint on to restore them. Haven't looked for it or seen anything else about it so that's all I know.
I also found a guy local that's going to do my windows for 160 plus 70 to remove the old tint. I decided to try and save 70 bucks and remove it myself. Came off extremely easy except for the glue. Every thing I read recommended using some harsh chemicals and heat guns and what not. Well the tint peeled easily in one or two big pieces but left alot of glue. I tried using water and alcohol with a razor but the glue turned to gooey and was a mess so I asked a guy att the parts store. He suggested light fluid. I was like wtf and was hesitant but let me just say it works extremely well. The glue is loosened to where you can scrape it or rub it off with a towel, but it doesn't get gooey it remains dry feeling. Tomorrow im finishing the back window glue removal with just a towel and light fluid and having them retinted. Wish me luck.

Well I can finally add.what I paid to this thread. 175 for all the windows except the sunroof. I went with 5% from my original plan of 35% which he only was going to charge me 160 but I couldn't really get the back glass as clean as he needed so he finished removing the glue. Im happy with it and thanks for all your input to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off!
