I dunno about that one... , 35mph???? hmmm apply physics to this senario, she looks like she hit the parked car at 35-40mph if the rim snapped it would not cause the car to jerk instanly and maintain that speed. Sorry to hear what happenedbut I am in the market for an Evo 9 Grill and Emblem if your intrested in sell it... Saturday 4am, hmmm, you sure no drinking was involved?

are they Magnesium wheels? looks like it. if so i can see that happening, i seen hair line cracks in magnesium do this before, very little warning signs. she was very lucky. Sad that it happened to such a sweet white ix, sorry about her luck.
edit, if it is magnesium and it did have a hair line crack you should be able to find it or where it started, it will be darker right at the very edge .... just from what ive seen.

Complete BULL****. There is no evidence to put the story with the pictures.
Notice:
1) Gravel in the wheel lug recesses
2) Gravel in the wheel well
3) Missing lug nut
4) The wheel is completely off axis of it's regular position
Someone is trying to pass off a wheel hit hard by a big object as wheel failure. FAIL.
Anyone who knows understands that's not what a wheel failure looks like at speed. In fact everything in the pics supports a collision.

Were these wheels made in China? Be careful buying aftermarket Chinese wheels because they don't test their wheels or have the safety requirements like the German and Japanese wheel manufacturers. That's not to say that some European manufacturers may have wheels made in China nowadays but at least those have to meet Tuv testing requirements.

Not getting into the fake wheel vs real wheel debate.
And for the record the amount of carnage for it just have randomly exploded looks almost to crazy to believe.
