Quality of tunes is all dependent on the person. But you're probably better off with a remote tune by someone like English Racing ("John Bradley" here)or one of the other vendors here.

You need your stock ecu reflashed with either a road tune or dyno pull tune. Don't buy a piggyback. Stock ecu is good for 800+hp

Depends on the tuner but definitely don't go piggyback. Stock ECU can be easily reprogrammed to optimize your mods.

Cobb is awesome.

For Evo X, GTR and Subaru owners. ECUFlash is the best solution for Evo VIII/IX owners.

I've had nothing but good experiences having my car tuned by Cobb, they are a vendor here on EvoM. For the VIII/IX you will be missing out on the Tephra hacks...unless you go to Cobb Tuning SoCal and have Jon Drenas tune you with ECUFlash.

I understand that, but not all tuners are made alike and just cause they work for Cobb doesn't mean they know much about say Evo MIVEC. Just saying I'd check out the guy's creds, nothing wrong with Cobb though

Cobb is definitely trustworthy. We've been working with them for a long time now.

OP, where are you located?

Can the tune be done remotely though?
