On the topic of dealers that offer discounts, the DSM group took care of this years ago...

Basically there are 2 major dealers that offer a significant discount on parts that we negotiated a few years back for DSM "members" and I talked to them about it and they said they would be happy to offer the same discount to EVO Club people. Ask for "EVO club Discount" when ordering. They offer this as a courtesy, so try to be nice to them...

Conicelli Mitsubishi for Eastern US:
Josh is the main contact

and

Norco Mitsubishi for Western US:
Dave is the main contact
http://norcomits.com

mitsparts@pe.net

I deal mostly with Norco Mitsu since they are closer to me, but both dealers ship parts out fast, so you can order from either, regardless of which one is closer.

What do you think evolutionm.net is? It's a national online forum/club for Lancer and Evo enthusiasts. Look at our vendor section and you will see the set of special deals offered to us on a daily basis. Look at our motorsports section or regional section for info on the local roadcourse events.

That is the silliest sweeping generalization I have heard on here in a long time. This likely comes from the mouth of a person who hasn't attempted to get in contact with the local enthusiasts.

The serious local clubs are taking root very quickly. None of them are rife with 16yr old wannabes.

Each of these clubs organize road course instructional events, dyno days and social meets. Each club has a preferred Mitsu dealership. In some cases that dealership offers discounts or preferential treatment of some sort. Each of these clubs has it's own messageboard forum.

I've got an NSX and am in the NSX Club of America and some of the benefits are that there are a number of venders and dealers that give substantial discounts to club members from everything oem to full out performance parts. The discounts range from 10-30% off of list.

Is anyone out there interested in starting something like this for Evo owners? I have not yet purchased mine, but anticipate the day soon and one of the things I've been looking at are the costs of the regular wear items I will be dealing with, and if I was able to join a club it'd be even sweeter if I knew I could at least get some kind of discount on parts.

Anyone interested in looking further at this or know of any club that might cater to Evo owners?
SoCalEvo.net is exactly waht you're looking for then. Our business/club model for the next 8 - 12 months is huge. We are aiming to be like the porsche owners club. In the works right now we have discounts for members all over the place, we have 5 track days this year in CA, online managzine, interviews with evo "celebrities", online tech help, resources, etc.

Stay tuned. We also have NorCalEvo.net if you're in NorCal!

Hey Nastea.....maybe in the summer we can plan an inter-club meet. EVo-NY and DCevoclub? We can meet somewhere in btwn, or I was thinking of having a drag day at ATCO. Any suggestions?

Dangit, I want a Grand Rapids Michigan Evo Club (GRMEC for short)! Actually, I'm thinking my local dealer may be taking care of me, but I'm gonna keep an eye on them. I plan on doing some business with the sponsers as well if I ever get some fundage back. An NSX and an Evo aren't the cheapest cars to keep on the road I'm finding out..... But are sure fun to drive.

I am a member of both SoCalEvo.net and DCEvoClub.com and have participated in meets and events with both. As Rob (coolguy949) and Aaron (Nastea) have stated, their clubs are growing by leaps and bounds. In both clubs, serious motorsports players are joining all the time. Track days, auto-x, actual rallying, HPDEs, etc. etc. Of course we still have meets and BBQs to get to know each other and swap ideas. Both sets of members are very close and get to know each other well since they're local. As for a meet with the NY Evo guys, I would love it. We should meet in Atlantic City for HIN...

I would also love to see a national Evo meet in Oklahoma or something. Anyone in the Midwest live in a low police/many open road-friendly state?

Chris
