I found a millspec ported 10.5 hotside on craigslist for 40 bucks. Does this seem right? Lancershop sells it for around 300. Is there anything I need to look for?

I'm not looking to breAk hp records. I'm at 252 now on a mustang dyno. My stock 8 turbo doesn't like boost lol. It's at 25 tappering to 18 at redline. Anything higher than that I blow crazy hot air and begin to knock. I was thinking this would help a bit, along with a new fmic.

Or Should I just get a 9 turbo? I have an 04 btw

 

I have an 03 and swapped out my 8 turbo for a 9 turbo. This was one of the best mods i've done to the car. In your case I would just purchase a 9 turbo.

 

Just swap out for a complete 9 Turbo man. Ive dont the part by part route. Its not worth it. You should buy it and resell it on here though. Do a search on here, there are pics of them everywhere.

 

I agree with just picking up a stock IX turbo & if you can find a ported 10.5 hotside for a good price grab it. A IX turbo with a ported 10.5 will see some nice gains over a stock VIII turbo.
