air intake questions

1.whats the best way to install an aftermarket intake WITHOUT the check engine light turning on?...2.what kinda intake would be best?...and 3.can i leave stock intake pipe and just put on an airfilter??..thank

^Exactly the same reason I bought my Perrin. No issues at all been running this intake for about a year and half.

depending on what else is on ur car the best thing you can do is re tune it after, you dont want it to run lean having more flow. some people say u dont have to on a stock car. really depends on if you do anythign to the MAF i guess. check your a/f

well its all stock...all imma add after i out the intake on, is a bov that i bought greddy RS....but thanks guys!

Just say no to the BOV.

See "Diverter valve/ blow off valve" right under the intake section.

agreed. if your car is mostly stock there is no need for a BOV, period. go with a internal bpv upgrade if you must, unless ur pushing 350+ hp or swapping your turbo i dont think there is ever a need for a BOV. if all you have is an intake and maybe a couple other bolt ons, having the BOV will actually hurt your performance. plus it requires additional parts and different sesnsors i think. the whoooosh is great but be patient, when you get the build up a little more maybe re visit the bov. you should do your fuel system next is anything, injectors, plugs. my personal opinion.

i have heard the main issue with BOV is driveability. depending on how it is set and tuned, when you come to a stop or you ar idleing, you can basically stall the car from having a bov.
