battery relocation kit?? suggestions?

I know people mock up kits them selves but this question goes out to all the people that have bought an actual kit from a company. any suggestions, pics, good prices of the ones you have all purchased? Also any good sites to buy them off of? I looked online and they seem pretty pricey like 150-250 w/out the battery. I'm gonna have to purchase a new battery as well because this odyssey mini battery just isn't going to cut it when the temps start dropping. It already sounds like I don't have enough juice to start the car. So any input would be great on where to get a good kit for a good price

I'm in the same boat. The Odyssey's work great spring-fall, but soon as winter hits they are terrible. Initial hint is when your radio presets start resetting. I will be piecing a kit together here soon that will hopefully look like the example posted above!

I've been contemplating battery relocation too. Go BMW style where the battery is on the passenger side in the trunk to offset some of the weight of the driver.
Our stock bettery setup is horrible. A piece of lead sitting up high over the front axle. Mitsubishi took the time and effort to install aluminum hood, fenders, and thinner windshield but left the battery.

I bought a Jeg's wiring kit and a Competition Engineering battery mount. I use a Braile 21 pound battery. I'm super happy with the results and now a year and a half old with NO issues, even during the terrible East Coast Winters!

When you relocate it make sure you mount the battery/battery box in the right rear of your trunk as the left rear is heavier. Mounting it in the right rear helps even it out.

Yeah the small battery doesn't seem to be holding. Someone said something about using a miata battery in the winter. Anyone heard about this? Or tried it?

I have custom cables (didn't purchase a kit), but I am running an Optima Yellowtop. If it's going in the trunk, I would not run anything else except for a dry cell battery.

The metal is thin in the trunk, so make sure you have multple clean grounding points for your negative terminal.

My minni's not sounding to great either. I bought a kit off ebay for 115.00 and it comes with alluminum box, 2 gauge wire, and hardware. It should be here in a day or 2 and I'll let you guys know what I think.

I want to do this as well but am not sure how to hook up the existing - and + to the new wires in the trunk.

Make your own!!! I spent $80 total with tax.

Discount Advance sells 2 gauge wire. Get about 16-20ft your pref. its about $2.30 a foot something like that.

Auto zone and discount auto parts sell battery trays its like $5.99 then you need the hold down for it which they sell its like $2.99, then you need to get screws and a drill and your all got to go and also dont forget to get the ground wire.

For the positive i purchased a battery terminal 2-3 bucks also at your local autozone or discount advance, You will also need and insert to crimp the 2 gauge wire to the positive terminal then all you need to do is run the 2 gauge wire to the trunk.

I will get a pic for you guys soon.

^^ This works too but I decided to spend an extra $35 for the polished box. I wanted it to be a little cleaner. Now it wont be here till Monday.

As for the mounting, I was thinking about the weight distribution. I have my sub and amp on the right side. I was wondering about the fact that if I put the battery on the right side also I'm going to have to run about 5ft more of wire. Is there a downside to this?

yes please do provide pics and if there's anything more to help in creating something like this it's always good to over explain so no one is confused.

thanks again
