Evo's Trade in/Resale Value [MERGED]
I know ebay is not the best place to sell your car, but jesus... If I had known deals like this would be around, I may have waited and saved $2500. Add in some tax (5% roughly) and this guy is out about $3500 for 418 miles!

Can't say I know the the US market depreciation rate on new cars, but usually anytime a car leaves the showroom it loses 10% of its new car price.
Just whipped this off the database, a quick indication on average how much they are worth respective to their new price tag in the JDM.
'92 E1 in '03= 20%
'93 E2 in '03= 33%
'95 E3 in '03= 42%
'96 E4 in '03= 44%
'98 E5 in '03= 60%
'99 E6 in '03= 71%
'00 E6.5 in '03= 80%
'01 E7 in '03= 83%
'02 E7 GTA in '03= 79%
'03 E8 in '03= 91%
Cheers

It has 250 miles of the most severe thrashing from dozens of tire kickers. All that during the break-in period. I'm not sure the car is worth much more than the original bid-in price.
I know I wouldn't buy it. Saving $1000 isn't worth the increased possibility of having to worry about warranty coverage issues down the line.
But none the less, I'm sure the car will bid up to the MSRP at least before the auction ends.

I think you guys are speculating... it does not say that it is a dealer demo. My car started to take abuse at just under 200 miles and then ran a 13.46 ¼ even while it was hot..... so maybe some early abuse is good.?
Anyway....no bids and it has been on ebay for over 2 days. I do not expect it to go past $28k....

I got mine brand new from a dealer in Alabama (2 hours from where this guy is), silver, equipped same, for $28,650 (including destination, excluding tax and tag fees).
At his price, I would definitely buy new from a dealer. 400 miles ain't much, but my car had 44 miles when I bought it. I would bet he's hard-launched it at least once.

Guys, I have no idea what your talking about . First they are starting at $27500,,,, its not a buy it now auction.
Second it has 4+ days left on the auction. Third most people dont bid until the final few hours.
So just wait and bookmark this auction,,,, It will be nice to see what it fetches.
Maybe someone should make a post on what they think it will go for? Since it is the first , maybe used (titled) evo8 that is for sale.
Im betting $31,500...............
p.s. this is not my car.

There is a dealer in Atlanta area selling at MSRP on e-bay, so I would bet the car goes for just over $29K. He would be better off waiting until the Fast and Furious and Subaru STi are introduced, as I believe demand will shoot up seriously in June/July for these cars then.
Good luck to the seller!

The dealers are fully aware of the value of these cars and they are not going to let "tire kickers" screw around with their much sought after, expensive merchandise. Of course, there might be a fool or 2 out there who'll let somebody abuse their new car, but I seriously doubt it....
