Seibon hood vents during rain...

I have a Seibon CW hood on my evo and during heavy rain the air filter gets covered in water causing the car to not be drivable. The vent sits right above my AEM open air filter. I have placed a small piece of sheet metal to cover it for the time being but what are some methods others have used to prevent this from happening? Should I fabricate some type of induction box to cover the filter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've had this same problem in the past, I then will put in the cover that seibon provided when I "know" its going to rain, makes a huge difference. I also changed from my Apexi filter to the Perrin one, also a HUGE improvement water wise, as the perrin filter is more foam and the water doesnt get through easy.
