Evo 8 mr

Hey everyone, am new to this site from New Zealand just after a few ideas on what to do to my evo to get more power out of it, its pretty standard atm, got a turboback exhaust, pod filter, aftermarket intercooler piping, 500hp walbro fuel pump, greddy rz bov, turbosmart fuel reg and a hks evc 5 boost controller. Hasnt had a tune yet was looking around at a td06 turbo anyone got any other ideas?

+1 for a/m intercooler, injectors and cams. Definitely get a tune, sooner rather than later. Mine was done by Torque Performance in Auckland, there are plenty of vendors who can do remote tunes on here too. You need to choose cams based on what other mods you've done, how your tune is done and what you want to achieve. But a tune is definitely going to unlock a decent amount of power right away and make your car a lot safer with your mods.

Check out a few of the build threads on here and see what turbos they use. I've always had a thing for the FP black. 30 psi on a stock block is not uncommon with a black with pump gas.

E85 is also available in Mount Maunganui.

What kind of gains are you guys seeing with some mild cams? I would think for the price/per hp, it would be more economical to just upgrade the turbo.

This is a good comparison. Notice how all the cams compared did get gains in the top end but a few of them lost power lower down.
