Hey guys i am gonna put in head studs this winter and i was curious if there was anything else to replace while the valve cover is off? I am getting a valve cover gasket for sure im doing the 1x1 method so no head gasket or head pulling off involved. Just wanted to freshen up anything else that would be simple to do while its apart.

 

There is nothing else to freshen up unless you were taking the head off. I did the 1 by 1 method and it was very easy.

 

Timing belt if it hasn't been done yet. Always good to put a good ol Gates belt in there.

 

Better cams

 

You dont need to pull the cams when doing headstuds.

 

Still your already in there and there a lot better options then what he has

 

I'm not paying money for cams when I have hks I know gsc kelford etc are better but it's not worth the money for the difference in the two. I didn't think there was much else to do but I thought I would check. Thanks guys!

 

I made pretty much what people with kelford and gsc made with my mods anyways.

Not sure but I mean it's off and the seal is broken so I'm sure it's a good idea

 

i think you're good without replacing, its pretty resilient rubber, seems like it can handle multiple removals no problem
