Installed a JDM Exhaust on USDM Rear

Picked up a Tomei Expreme Ti yesterday which was on an 8 with a JDM rear. I finally got around to cleaning it up and installing it tonight.

I'm thinking the USDM version Tomei would be sticking out more from the bumper. I may eventually get a JDM rear, but it's not on my priority list. Anybody have any experience with this or tips?

I also have a heat shield which I haven't installed yet but it may be going on soon to keep my bumper from getting completely messed up.

Before

After the WD40 + rags + steel wool (only for the piping)

After cleaning off the WD40 film off with degreasing spray and compared to Stock

Installed

We've had this issue in the UK before with people fitting the USDM rear bumper, because you guys have a crash bar in it, its deeper. The JDM ones are shallow so it fits correctly. It has come up well though

My greddy ti is fit for a jdm bumper and I have the usdm bumper and the exhaust is short and tucked under the bumper about a inch or two and sits higher it fits but like others have said my bumper is now burned and yellowing especially my car is white. I plan on getting a jdm rear soon but as of now I will either get the heat shield or replace the bumper soon

My HKS hi-power exhaust sits about the same on my bumper. It hasn't burned it or anything just gets some soot on it is all.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'll probably get that heat shield on tonight. I'll drill it and fit it then paint it black. I'll post more pics when I'm done.

For those of you wanting to see more of the ramps, I made another thread when I started building it.

That looks perfect in my opinion. I have a greddy knockoff catback and my tip sits similar to yours. Almost makes it look like its OEM and belongs there. (the look I was going for)

Yes, the bumper gets dirty and yellow. HOWEVER, I wash my car often enough not to worry about it. Put like 2 or 3 coats of wax in that area and you'll be fine. My car is a flame shooter and have not had any permanent issues.
