Installing AEM Inline Wideband

I've acquired a beta version of EvoScan 2.9 (thanks Hamish) and I'm anxiously hoping to test AFR logging using the AEM inline. Cheaper than the regular UEGO.

AEM instructions state connect wideband to PC via RS232....my laptop does not have that port. So now I have a few questions?

1. What connection can I use to connect the wideband to my laptop vis USB?
2. Do I need to connect the Lambda cable to anything...considering the Laptop is doing the logging?
3. I'm assuming I can attached the brown wire to any usable ground point?

Here are the AEM instructions for comparison.

Not rolling with inline but the AEM UEGO analog and it uses Lambda, I have searched for a while and not able to fine any info on this. If you have a method how to log AFR via lambda values I would be appreciative.

Ahh just looked and PDF, inline has serial connection, mine doesnt

I have the UEGO and I use this Dynex USB 2.0 To Serial 9-Pin RS-232 to connect to my laptop. I have heard that some brands work and others have had troubles but I have confirmed that this brand works once you obtain the driver online.

That is what I used with my LC-1 before wiring my wideband into one of the ECU pins and it worked great.

I use the UEGO as well. I know that there may be a how to on here, but I created one on another forum. Link below is how to connect UEGO to evoscan. Its not 100% complete, but this may be all the info you need.

If you are new to the wiring aspect http://www.spoolinup.com/ has a wideband cable that has the serial plug already wired you just need to ground it and attach the blue wire. Use the Dynex USB 2.0 To Serial 9-Pin RS-232 adaptor I mentioned (Dont forget to download the drivers) and your all set.

Mine didnt have serial out, it was model 30-5130 analog and only had 0-5v analog output. I didnt know this before ordering but was able to make it work via rear O2 ECU input. Which is actually a bit better no serial cable just my normal 1.3 cable. I have read that digitals also have this analog voltage out and can be connected the same way outside of serial logging.
