Exhaust vs Turbo Q
Exhaust vs Turbo Q
Q: Does a quiet 3in exhaust (like Fujitsubo RM01A) have the ability to flow similar to HKS Carbon-Ti? Is it enough to match up to HKS 7460 GTII or FP Green? Have heard good things about it Fujitsubo, but wondering if it has a limited appeal to some people based on their setup.

I do not speak from personal experience with these two exhausts, but usually "quiet" means more bends, resonators, etc, which would mean less flow and less power. That being said, I personally do not think the catback section matters as much as say...the down pipe and turbo dump as far as power generation is concerned. As long as its 3 inch, I would say just go for the exhaust note you like better.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Muffler choice and piping material = sound.
Ti are always loud and raspy. Cobb and a few others are "quiet" and still flow as much as others. Ti has a weight advantage...but if not racing, wasted $.
Pure hp numbers and enjoying the sound of the car are different in my book. I go for good sound over some numbers. Of course, I now am over the standard Evo owner age range here...tastes for annoying might be different.

Another Question: Would a 80mm/3 Inch system fitted with Apex'i Active Tail Silencer (ATS) be a better option?

if you want quiet exhaust, stay stock or just get a catback and no downpipe/test pipe. if you want quiet exhaust except when in boost, get a wastegate actuated cutout. if you dont car how loud the car is, get a full catless 3"
