Polished Evo 8 intake manifold

Though i don't own a evo 8, I am in the middle of a bit of a project. I have a 2002 gs eclipse; doing a evo 8 head swap + precision 6765 turbo and a bunch more. Overall goal is around 600whp. anyways i've kinda looked around on here and hadn't found that anyone got as bored as I did.....

So in my boredem I went ahead and sanded off all those ugly casting marks off the factory intake manifold (evo 8) and polished her up. just wanted to see what ya'll thought.

lol i've spend the past 3 weeks, probably about min.2 hours a day on this thing, went from 80 grit all the way up to 1000, i need to go over it with 1500 and 2000 then i'll buff it and it should look like a mirror

i'll just make this my build thread i guess lol, i'll post some more pictures when i have it with 2000g, and then after i buff it, but the only hard thing about this is that since it's such a tight space in between all the nooks and crannys, i'm not sure if i'll be ABLE to actually buff this completely. but i will do my best.

Die grinded down all the casting marks, then yeah lol the rest 100% by hand. i got 1500 and 2000 grit earlier so i've went over it a few times already.

looks great. I too are one who is cursed with some boredem. haha. I am in the process of doing mine as well. It is an evo 9 intake manifold that i actually shaved the mounting point for the brakets that hold the tps, map, ect. harness which runs on the top. I will be running it from underneath and and egr delete set up .

damn dude looks neat! the only thing i see you didn't do was shave down the casting marks like i did, they were a bi&ch to get at without getting it uneven and loosing the manifolds design or shape if you will.
