Funny I came upon this thread, three weeks ago someone brakes my passenger side mirror,in you this is with my brother's Evo parked right next to me in a pretty empty parking lot that doesn't see a lot of traffic. Last week I decide to park my car in front of the store I work at in a single car parking spot that is nowhere near any other cars. I come out of work to give one of my friends a ride to the back parking lot of the store (the one where they broke my mirror three weeks prior). He tries to get in the car and the door made a weird noise and barely opened, didn't thinking of it so I told him to pull hard. Get to the rear lot so I go around to inspect the car (mind you it was dark out with not enough lighting) I start feeling the fender and I notice that it is completely dented inward, which caused the door to jam and not allow it to open. Obviously work is not gonna pay for it so I let my bosses know and now I get to park inside a cozy garage at work. It's just a damn shame that the damage was already done because the last thing I need to worry about when am at work is my car.

yea, its just ridiculous that we have to be selective as to where we bring our cars... i usually wont go to a quite a few places if i can't have the car in my eyes view. i would normally take my 98 beater tercel or my mom's rav4 to avoid having vandalism problems

C'mon guys just be thankful you dont have a Honda! lol

You go through more headaches with a $2k Honda than you do with a $20k Evo.

I find the opposite. People give my car wide berth or special attention (due care).

funny you should say that... i ended up buying a 96 Del sol about 2 years back thinking i was going to just daily drive it to work and back, and have a car that i can drop the top once and awhile. next thing you know after a new paint job, dc5 recaros, some brand new gold rota svns, i treat the damn del sol as i treat my evo now

Wow.

So you'd take a guy's eye out to defend your property? Might I add this is a car (replacable) and that in the grand scheme of things is rather cheap too... You don't think there is something wrong with your logic? Have you thought about the legal repercussions to taking such a poorly thought out decision?

An eye for an eye. FUC* IT!
You mean a scratch for an eye.

the hell with the legal crap, lets not make this thread into the same discussion when the guy whooped the drunken ex navy guy's ***.

i would kick someone's *** as well .. yes a car is just a material possession, and it can be fixed or replaced, but mind how the current economy is. not everyone wants or has the money to blow into something that shouldnt have to be fixed in the first place if the car was never vandalized or ****ed with to begin with.

you have to give respect to get respect. I'm not sure why you think that not wanting others to damage your stuff and protecting your stuff from people intending harm is a negative trait not to be desired or replicated. If you truly believe this, let me know where you live and then let me stop by whenever I want, take your car for a few weeks, return it worth less than when I took it, and then demand a payment of cash when I return it. This is essentially what happens to us when someone damages the car, we have to put it in the shop to get fixed, the car gets a tarnished title, and then we have to pay the deductible or the full damages depending on your insurance coverage (comprehensive vs. liability).

I seriously doubt that you would be ok with that and just smile and say thank you. If you are, then kuddos for achieving unattachment. From my viewpoint, if you cross the line and threaten me and mine, I will do what is in my power to prevent that.

I think the EVO has gained some type of mythical status among those that are young and into cars. When I bought my IX back in 06 many people really didn't know or care about my car. Fast toward to today and I get lots of comments and lots of revving on the highway. Unfortunately with more attention comes the chances for some @sshat to hate and do something bad. I'd bet the EVO has a better chance of getting vandalized in any random parking lot than a Porsche 911.

Wait...You think I am taking sides with hate and disrespect? You need to read what I posted again.

N
Kicking in your front door is hate and disrespect man. Sorry you were the recipient of it. I didn't do it and don't think in any way shape or form I am siding with those that do it. BTW...when I was growing up you were taught to respect. Or you got the backside.

I bet that whtrice was talking about vandals, not owners protecting their property. that's the way I decided to interpret it, anyway, after thinking the same as you initially.

I think you are right. So hard to tell what people mean sometimes.
