I think you're fine just connecting your new -6 line to the output of the current filter on the double pumper, but if you want to do it with all AN fittings, you just need to replace the current barbs in the DP with 1/8NPT male to -6AN male adapters.
do they even make 1/8 npt to -6? thats a pretty horrible transition.

Yeah, does not really matter. I'm sure that Summit just uses a generic photo for a male NPT to male AN fitting. I'll pay 1/2 as much for the Summit version, and get a pot pie and Mountain Dew with the money saved.

i guess my point is, if it can be drilled and tapped for 1/4" npt, i think it would be a better route.

Considering that the outlet of the fuel pump is a smaller ID than the ID of an 1/8"NPT fitting...no.

im not saying it wont work, i just like removing as many points of restriction, and potential failure points as possible.

The DP has 1/8NPT female threads tapped into it as it is. I really don't think it cares if the other side of the fitting that you screw into it has barbs, flares, or Mighty Putty attached to it.

im worried about the i.d. of the 1/8"npt to -6 fitting, not the threads. if its 1/8" (not likely) then it WILL be a restriction. if its 5/16" or bigger, great! no restriction.

You're thinking that 1/8" NPT actually measures 1/8". You're wrong.

For starters, the drill size for tapping an 1/8" NPT hole is 5/16", or 11/32", depending on who you ask.

But overall, you're missing the point. The DP comes with 1/8" NPT female threads on it's outlet. The fittings that David supplies with it do not create a restriction, nor will the ones that I suggested.

David..help! They won't believe me unless you back me up

I can't help turbotravis.............I just don't have it in me...like you said in one of your posts, there are guys who can't start a welder or know the difference between an AN fitting and an NPT. You were correct.

All I know is 600 double pumpers can't be wrong.

With the barb fittings you have on your kit chu'smom you could just start your AN line from the supplied filter you got with our kit. I'd check to be sure the pumps are modified while you are at it, if not then do them. The stock feed line on your EVO is the restriction with two modded 255's.

Like David said, (and as I've said many times before on here), all you need to do is start your new line at the outlet of your current filter and use a high quality clamp, and make sure your pumps are modded. I personally like "Gap Free Pinch" clamps from McMaster Carr.

What about using the evap line and run lines from each pump straight up to the engine bay, then use a wye fitting with two -6an to a -8an into an -8an fuel filter then to the rail? As Dave suggested, make sure the Walbros are modded, if not pressure will drop off big time, especially since you are running 40+ psi...

No reason for -8. Everyone always thinks bigger the better....never got it.

Anyway, your idea would work I guess, but it's just so much simpler to get 15 feet of -6 Aeroquip socketless and connect it to the outlet of the double pumper.
