My thoughts on the 04

Ok.. here is what i think basically

We all know that next year Mitsu is offering leather recaro front seats as well as a 330 watt stereo system... as well as teh RS evo and thats a totallly difffernet dissussion altogether...

But what im interested in is the colors that may come out...

I feel that mitsu would be very smart if they brought the titanium grey or a carbon black variant to the US Market....

Also another color to consider is The light blue color as on the eclipse (im not gay) but i mean its a unique thing to have... i personally would not be bothered if i drove a pink evo... i would make alot of people jealous of my car...

I was kidding about pink but i makes sense...

It is also worthwhile for mitsu to roll out a full line of Ralliart Equipment...

Unfortunately Ralliart shares the same fate as Mazdaspeed (i own a mazdaspeed protege BTW) ... unfortunately US mitsu (and mazda) are not allowed to sell their japanese products because they are jdm specific... (well sort of).

I mean i think there is a huge bussiness in ralliart parts, who wouldn't want to change their intercooler under warranty or chip their evo to a FQ-300/330 spec from the dealership

Ok off topic but i think this is a great dilema we will be facing in the near future with mitsu... Is mitsu going to stop w/ just what we have now.. or is it going to "evolutionize" the Evo to keep it exciting...

Well i fear for the evo to hit the toilet... because if we look back on the mitsu trends their brands only lasted a few years, go back 10+ years at the Galant Vr-4... man i still want to mess with one... Those are like the M-5 for the mitsu brand.

On another note... (last one) i think mitsu should roll out with a ralliart eclipse or diamante (not hte ****ty Vr-x but maybe with a twin turbo setup ala 3000gt vr-4 or galant vr-4).

Man, I like how raw the car is. Just the plain colors. No luxury tools to cater to the general public. I wouldn't like it if Mitsu started selling out, with the Evo. It just isn't right for the car.

Well that was my rant lol... i really think that they should expand on the car lineup... and not be dicks with their warranty...

From my experience... i had a 01 GTZ from Coconut Creek Mitsu... i had no problems whatso ever with service...

I know the service guy Raphael so well and he was telling me how dick they have to be with the Evo's...

Anyways for comparison to a turbo car... Mazda is not dick at all with most mods... they told me intake is ok and exhaust.. (no catback but thats Ok still) they said they warranty everything except when something breaks due to an aftermarket part... (i.e. Boost controller)... That is why i keep my MSP stock and save money for the Evo

We should give mitsu some time, damn'

Its only been like a year's time since the EVO came out, and not where asking for all MR's, More options, 6Gear Tranns, Full Line RalliArt products, etc.

Sure Euro/Asian markets have these though they also had the EVO basically since its start in 92'

And its easier to get all these into the euro/asian markets (cept the 6GMT, anyway..)

Euro requirements are really easy to pass, wether emmisions or whatever, and the EVO is a JDM, which means it was ment for Japanese markets, so they would give the whole bucket of goodies there for sure.

Give them some time, let the EVO settle into the US Markets, etc. and it should come.

And the warranty issue, I'm not that pissed at it,
Just think.

If you where head of a dealership (though I know all of us would be a great, kind managers ) and get like 100's of clutch requests, Prob. 70-80% of those are **** burning it like that kid in the STi Video in Off Topic.

Now im not saying every one is like this, and its def. not fair to the drivers that actually have problems from real/important/serious/accidental issues, so it can be a controverisal issue, so it all depends on how you look at it.

I wonder if they will continue to make changes. I can see color changes and slight modifications, but...

I hope it doesn't end up like the 2g Eclipse (GSX-GS-T). The 3rd gen is fugly (my opinion) and the engine is worse. Or lets hope it doesn't end up like the Toyota Supra
