Oh, and I actually went with ddmtuning 55w 6k for my lows. I did not end up getting the slim ballast. I've had 0 issues since the install about a year ago. Been pondering getting a set for my high beams but I'm not sure if it would be really worth it or not.

Anyone have any experience with HID high beams on the non hid housing?

I put 55w DDM's in my bike that didn't have hid hosing and it works great. Its just not recommended for low beams as much because it doesn't quite "slice" the light off sharply like HID housings should. Brights shouldn't ever be a problem.

Question though- what do you guys do about the giant hole at the bottom of the headlight housing? its designed to be sealed by the stock HID ballast, which would obviously be getting replaced

all i can say i've used cheap chinese ebay hid before and they work fine, but get the high and low beams as a lot of people still don't know what hids are and constantly flash you, so when you get flashed you can flash them back with hid

this means your lights are blinding them. nothing pisses me off more than people with improperly adjusted HID's. If you're a few carlengths behind a car, your cutoff line should be on their trunk, not above their car somewhere

Is there a way to adjust the high beam independent of low? Mine looked like they were really down so I adjusted the low beams to cutoff appropriately (nice line on their trunk, even at a distance) but I swear the high beams almost seem to be pointing into space now lol.

Agreed! I put them in my Infiniti last year and they looked great, and the visibility was clear. $35.00 shipped! I put my halogens as brights (just to fill it) with proper light alignment they project perfectly.
