Exclamation EVO 8 TURBO LAGG? POSSIBLE bov

Hello guys so i have noticed something different from my 05 evo 8 laltely. So when i bought it, it came stock and everything seemed fine, then i bought a hks bov. I thought it put it right ( i had to coveer the intercooler with this block to not let the air out) it seemed fine for 2 months then i started getting a turbo "lag". I mean everytime i rev over 5rpms, the turbo starts to release while im pressing the gas and sometimes it pushes more power while other times it lags. I recently put the stock bov and it runs much better but it still has that lag when im going fast, not much anymore tho. Hope anyone can help me out i know this is long i just want to explain in detail +)

It could be either the stock diverter valve lifting which usually starts to happen at about 12 PSI or the waste gate actuator not having enough preload adjustment. Are you sure that it isn't the clutch slipping?

The waste gate actuator(WGA) can be adjusted tighter and the diverter valve can be crushed if it is the metal piece, but not the plastic one.

How are you controlling boost anyway? Do you have a manual boost controller?

Do you have any other mods? No offense but it's kind of odd to only have BOV. And like what sparky said, what are you using to control boost? Your solenoid may be going bad.

Yes, as 3K states above, the boost leak test is your friend.

Sorry but what's clutch slipping?
I tried tighten everything very tight with clamps
And I have no Manuel controls but I should get one.
And yeah around 5k rpms maybe 6 but high around there it does feel like leaks because the bov sounds starting to open and close while I'm pushing the gas
How can I test the boost leak??
Appreciate the help

Go to google and type "site:evolutionm.net boost leak test" or click on this link to go straight to the results: http://bit.ly/wZtBq7 . The search tool on this site is not pretty. The noise you're hearing very well could be a boost leak (air leaking out).
