same here, my dealership service manager told me that we're looking at about 1100-1400$ including labor. (parts are not the expensive part of this price, labors are).

Service reps are idiots for the most part. If their tellin you they have not seen an Evo clutch last more than 10k they are flat out lyin. They just don't want to bother with it. I would take them your Warantee manual and show them the 1yr. 12k guarantee. Then tell them to put that in their pipe and smoke it.

BTW.. I have 17k with many launches and daily beatings in DC traffic on my clutch and no slippage to speak of. I think Mitsu. should give driving lessons when they sell these cars.

Stock Evo with no mods and 17k miles on it, no problems. Not driven easy or hard, somewhere in between.

Almost 10,000 on mine with three high rpm drops and a couple of hard slips and it feels perfect.

I pulled this card when I thought my clutch was going at 7000 miles. The service manager said that this can be voided if the car is "raced" and they would be able to tell if it was raced once they pulled it apart(I call BS on this one). After pulling it apart the clutch they said it looked fine other than being worn and having a couple small "hot spots". They ended up replacing it for about $870 and I got stuck with the bill because the regional rep REFUSED to come look at my warranty claim. According to the manager all clutch warranty requests would be denied. I called the dealership a few times afterwards letting them know how dissapointed I was and they finally gave me half my money back. I filed a complaint with Mitsubishi Motors USA, they opened a case and said that the rep should have looked at it the first time. I got a phone msg a couple days later from the rep basically saying it isn't covered, end of story. I didn't have the time or energy to fight it beyond that.
