Thanks! Yes, I did see this one... It went up for the sale the same day I lost out on the black MR in MD. My problem with it is the random little changes.... no badging, different shifter, no emblem, and the aftermarket wheels. I did call on it, and they swear it was never modded, but I'm suspicious; especially when the sales guy told me he personally saw it, he know Evo's, and it's exactly as it came new (obviously not). And it's a bit further from me; still drivable, but not to be disappointed. I somehow don't feel right about it, and I'm still second-guessing a little on this VIII, lol! But, I feel the VIII is probably the better car if I can get it close to the same price.

 

^^^ FWIW, the suspension doesn't look stock, too.

 

It's pretty, but hard to believe someone would change wheels/shifter/badging etc and not touch the boost/tune. That being said, it is so pretty... I love '06 MRs.

Their quite reluctant to come down any more in price on the car in question... But, they did agree to give me a grand more than originally quoted sight unseen on my Honda. So, we'll see if I get the BBY VIII this weekend.

 

Those are MB weapon wheels. The cheapest alloy wheels I could find for the evo that I thought looked decent. I use them for my winter wheels. I paid $115 ea new a few years ago. 17x8 28 , a decent offset. I like em but they obviously went el cheapo.

 

WTF?!! I swear I must not be meant to have an Evo!!! I put a deposit down on the car, only to be called back and told someone else's credit card was ran literally as my guy walked in the door to swipe my card! Seriously!!??? The car is for sale months until I want it and make a decision, and then it's again it's gone! I'm so upset I don't know what to do!

 

It will be ok... just think of it as it wasn't the "right one for you". You weren't 100% sold on that one originally... so it just means you need to keep an eye out. I'm sure you will find one that you will be happy with.

I still can't stop balling over this.... I know that's half because I'm pregnant, but come on! I'm so upset! Especially, because I had to jump through so many hoops with this one... only to have it literally snatched 5 minutes before me is crazy.

You're right though, I really wasn't sold on this one like the MR, but still.... It'll be how long now 'til I find another stock Evo???? I feel like I'm screwed.... a second time. I'm not even mad this time, I'm just sad.

 

i would for sure check the vin but then if no one reported anything to car fax it doesn't make a difference. like for me my car said it was never in an accident on the car fax because no one reported it, yet i found out when i got in an accident

No.... Unless, whoever in NY doesn't pick it up Monday.......... It was for sale over 2 months on all the major car listings. It just happens to be when I make the final decision to buy it, the car's sold, lol. But, you can be sure if I have something available on the DL, I wouldn't be advertising.

Yeah... It's been modded, though.... It does look pretty... & it's less than 100 miles from me.... So, I wish it weren't...

 

What mods have been done to it? The SE model is awesome, you get all the benefits of an MR with a 5-spd gearbox.
