Dangers Buying '03 viii w/only 8k miles?
I would never buy a car from a used car lot like that. Especially a modded car, you know nothing about its past. Personally if you can find a stock Evo with under 15,000 miles on it I would jump at that experience any day of the week and so would many others.
Stock evo's are harder and harder to find, single owner is a nice feature also.

That scared me completely away, but honestly, yes an SE would be ideal for me.
The fact they are a used car dealer also makes me wary as the last poster mentioned. The car otherwise looks clean and is a one owner clean CarFax car, though.
Far to many horror stories since used car lots make there living off of getting cars for nothing and flipping them, most of the time from auctions so there is no contact with the owners, no idea of whats been done, 25,000 miles someone can do a lot of damage,I would hold out for a stock or near stock item with the lowest miles possible
Not to mention that setup is horrid, all i see is zipties, backwards oil caps and ebay manifolds haha.
Maintenance is huge and you have no idea if things were maintained, (drivetrain fluids every 15,000) and people don't just put intercoolers and turbo kits on cars that they are cruising @ 60mph at 2700 rpm. If you catch my drift.

If I even considered this car I'd have to have it checked out by someone who knows there stuff, that's for sure. But, I don't think so at this point. It sucks now though, as I just have to wait and see what pops up I guess.....

I just picked up a 03 with a little under 14k miles the car is completely stock and the car fax puts the original owner putting 2-3k annually on it. Its becoming harder and harder to find an Evo that hasn't been ripped apart and abused by a previous owner.
Did you run the carfax your self? Send me the vin number if you want and i'll run it for ya. a buddy of mine bought a 96 cobra with 40k miles, carfax says last reported is 290k.
