For those who have/had JDM 8 MR headlights

Hello. I have questions for those who have/had JDM 8 MR headlights. After I installed JDM heads yesterday, I noticed it was crooked/uneven but I was told JDM MR headlights do not have a flat cut-off pattern. This is how they are produced in Japan for more visibility since they are RHD cars in Japan. In case like this, should I lower driver side head manually? Is so, how? Thank you.

pretty sure you can manually adjust the beam with a wrench. but even with both lights perfectly aligned it will always shine higher on the left side. Since they drive on the other side of the road, the beam pattern is designed to shine light on the side of the road for visibility.

I have only seen one person that took the time to retrofit the inside of the headlights with a "shield" to get a flat cutoff pattern.

Thank you so much for your answers. It looks like previous owner already lowered driverside low beam. That's why I am getting uneven the layers. I put my car againt wall and it shows driverside is bit lower than passenger side.

The *correct* answer is that you should take the headlights apart and fix the pattern.

Here's one example - obviously since it's a Legacy most of it won't apply to you, but it does demonstrate the difference in the plates.

^ Thanks. I found this. Post #23 shows difference between JDM vs USDM low beam pattern. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...post-up-2.html

I have no guts to do this.

You get used to it honestly. However if I am behind a police officer I will auto adjust the HID a few notches down to make sure I'm not pissing the cop off.
