When you disconnected and removed the MBC as per your quote above...you were left with two open ended hoses, one of which had been connected to the side port on your MBC and the other hose which had been connected to the bottom port on your MBC, right?

When you had your MBC hooked up initially when boosting just 11 PSI, had the hose connected to the bottom port on the MBC been connected directly to the compressor discharge pipe's nipple? Secondly, had the second hose which was connected to the MBC's side port been hooked up to the port on the WGA?

Once you disconnected your MBC, what did you do with the two open hose ends? Did you plug them? Did you then proceed to connect the port on the WGA to the port on the turbocharger's compressor discharge pipe with a single length of hose?

What I am trying to get at is...how did you hook up the boost/vacuum hoses that had been connected to the MBC? Or better yet, how did you hook the hoses up when you got that 20 PSI reading? I am curious.

99% of the "my car only boosts to 11-15psi" threads are WGA and/or MBC.

That's for sure! I am trying to visualize exactly how he had his boost/vacuum lines hooked up when he boosted to 20 PSI. By contrast it would be helpful to know exactly how he had his MBC hooked up when only boosting 11 PSI. A picture is worth a thousand words.

We cannot assume that your WG was "properly" adjusted based on the info that you have provided so far.

If your WG spring pressure was adjusted to 20 PSI...then the installation of an MBC correctly into the plumbing could not possibly lower boost down to the 11 PSI level. No way.

An MBC cannot adjust boost LOWER than the actual setting of the WG spring pressure. A MBC can only raise boost upward above that spring pressure setting and/or lower it down to that setting...no lower.

So, if spring pressure is set at eleven PSI then a MBC can only raise boost up above 11 PSI. Likewise if spring pressure is 11 PSI a MBC cannot lower boost below 11 PSI. That's just the way it is.

So, if spring pressure were adjusted to 20 PSI then you could not lower boost down to 11 PSI with your MBC adjustment knob. Nor could you lower boost down below 20 PSI, by merely installing a MBC correctly into the plumbing. Is this clear?

The side port on the mbc goes to the wastegate, the bottom one goes to the bov hose in a three way connection. But when i took off the mbc (just disconnected the hoses off it) and drove the car on the highway i didnt plug the wga hose and the bottom hose no where i just left them in the engine bay with out the mbc there... because i talked to this guy who tunes evos and he told me to do that and to take it in 5th gear at 4000rpm and see if the boost goes up over 10psi.. and it did it went to 22-25 ishh untill i let off the gas and the psi gauge just turned off so i stoped and reconnected this hose thats connected on the intake manifold i put it back in and gauge turn back on . so i came back home and connected the mbc on and turned the boost all the way on + and tryed it and it was back to 11 psi... this is really wierdd. idk wtf is up with it..

im not trying to argue or start one either but megan likes to crack, and their welds arent that great.. the stock exhaust manifold ported is 10X better.. ive even heard the port on them is even smaller than the stocker.. i have a megan right now and i just got the stock ported and putting it back on..

aside from that did you get your problem fixed?

if you read on here and study enough you'll learn everything you need to know to fix your car when its a simple issue
