the e85 gunk problem is real, I'm proof of that but I had no problems for years. It wasn't until I drove across the country and hit some random gas stations that I had the problem. My area e85 has always been good. I think the lessen learned here is to occasionally run pump gas through to keep it clean, that seems to be the only thing that's working for others.

alright, thanks.. i was just wondering bc i can get some TORCO 108oct or 110oct (i forgot) for around $8 a gallon in my area and that will be my only alternative fuel to our 91oct pump gas..
Everybody will say e85, including myself. But keep in mind.. u will use twice as much e85 compared to pump gas. So if you are already not liking the mpg u have on pump u will hate e85...(until u step on the gas).
e85 should be thought of as a cheap replacement to 100 octane. here in cali.. 100 octane goes for $10 a gallon in some places. e85 goes for $3.40. but when u do the numbers you are paying about $6.80 to use e85 to get the same distance compared to 100 octane.
also dont even get me started on getting some form of a ethonal content reader. zentronix makes one and buschar sells some little device. (If you want to make sure your car will last... u may want to invest in one of these too....)
hope that gives u a little more info on what your looking at when u go 100% e85.

Well got te Evo back from English... Thank god there right down the road.... All I can say is WOW!!! Car gained over 50hp and is soo reaponsive now!! Only downside I get 200 miles to a tank of gas without my foot in it(Whitch is never) thanks all for the post!
My e85 stations around here switch to e70 in the fall/winter, so a reader is pretty important for the longevity of your car
