Did you get a receipt? 27k seems steep considering some of the options included are expensive problems.

That happened to me as well and I hit 31 psi as logged by my JDM map sensor tapering to 22psi with very basic bolt ons on the VIII turbo. With a lot more bolt ons it would be higher and definitely sounds like what is happening here (changing MBC and it not doing anything). I was using ECU controlled boost at the time and the ECU was saying the wastegate is wide open but yet the boost continued to rise.

+1 to the folks saying take it to a shop that deals with Evos. Some of those other "turbo" shops workaround issues that an Evo shop would understand how to fix.

$26,700 for a 06 MR with 50k miles is a good price I think. I am taking the car tommorow morning to get it fixed hopefully these guys know wtf they doing.

I would also suggest looking at the boost lines running to the MBC. I had my boost lines running to my 3 port mixed up one time and the car was spiking to 35+psi because the wastegate wasn't opening. This was on a stock 9 turbo BTW

dude 30+ psi on stock turbo would be insane!! are u sure thats a stock turbo? u need to tune that thing quick i wouldn't suggest smashing it at all.... u need to get it retune or checked out that is definetly not normal...

I just had it fixed. The mbc the screw inside was not screwed in right so the ball in there was just flying around. Now i run 22psi spike then tapers down to 19 psi

No the cel is still there but i think i know how to fix it once i go outside.
