Just got into an accident . what to do now?
S****y man, though if you were paying somewhat attenion to your surroundings you would of seen the truck attempting to shoot the gap across 3 lanes and you could of accelerated a little like any curtious driver would and avoid being hit, but unfortunately that wasn't that case. Just sayin'

Wow. That is shady as F* by Progressive.
When I got rear ended by a USAA driver (also on their phone) I took it to my body shop, they sent out an adjuster who wrote up fair estimate, and a couple days later my car was good as new without ever involving my insurance. Just sayin'.
Obviously if they start jerking you around, it's a different story.

the other driver has united automobile insurance . From all the responses on here i think im just going to go threw statefarm (my insurance) and be on the safe side. thanks every one for the help.
called statefarm and filed the claim. now all i have to do is find a bodyshop that i want. they have ther own but they dont have good reviews so im looking for another. if i went to one on theres list they would not need to send an adjuster.
If your car is totaled and you want some help PM me your phone number and I can give you some advice how to maximize the settlement.
Also go to the doctor and have yourself checked out. (even if it doesn't hurt). Don't try to be a tough guy!
Hope this helps!
Like other people have said, use your own insurance company. They will not skimp on fixing your car because the other insurance company will be paying the bill. It is in their interest to fix your car in the best manner possible to keep you as a customer.
Another thing that has made a HUGE impact in my experience is: having the adjuster check out the car at a body shop/mechanic, preferably one you know. Often times they can find damage the adjuster would miss because they will have more time to evaluate the car (and they want more work). This will help you get a higher initial estimate to help get your car closer to totaled. You do not want them to start work with an estimate that is 80% of what you would need to have the car totaled only for them to find more damage once the work has started.
