Anyone no the future of E85? The subcity did not pass so it ended the year of 2011.

Will they stop expanding locations?

Or worse start shutting down locations!

I no the price is going to raise for obvious reasons but I'm worried they are going to start shutting down Stations. anyone know any useful information

Who knows what will happen to it, but the future for me is to keep using it as long as its available. I have a feeling if gas prices shoot up like they are talking that either E85 will also shoot up or be yanked, but who knows?

There is no profit currently as the market is flooded with Ethanol. However, seeing as how oil is going up because of the possibility of trouble in the Middle East, profits will be back before too long, once the market supply adjusts to demand. I don't see E85 going away. It may not expand, but I don't think locations will stop selling it. But who knows

While the subsity didn't pass, the mandates forcing the amount that gets used for fuel each year are still in effect. It just might not be cheaper than 91/93 any more.

Here in indy I've never seen it more than 87. The other day I paid 3.02/gal and last week like 2.84/gal

It's hovering around $3/gal here in Minnesota, has been since the start of the year. It was $2.59/gal on New Year's Eve.

price has not changed here in orlando up and down just like the price of 93. I will use it as long as I can but I am doing my 93 tune this week so I can switch between the two at the touch of a button.

i'm going with e85 this spring and not worried one bit, if ends up going by to the wayside we'll just have to use the next best thing

If the supply of gasoline gets short and its not just the petroleum people screwing us on price (Memorial weekend is coming) then the supply of gasoline can be extended by blending it with ethanol and ethanol has a future.

It's spelled Subsidy, and what happened was that the government doesn't want to give a tax credit towards people who sell/manufacture(?) Ethanol fuels.

I'd kill to have gas be 3.50, I just filled up on 91 @ $4.09 a gallon.
