Whistling Noise plz help!

Ok so long story short, pulled up and parked to get something to eat. Heard no scrapes or anything. When i was leaving i go to pull out and heard some scraping. I have injen IC piping and the LICP tends to hang low and scrape sometimes so I thought nothing of it but as soon as I started to drive away I heard a kind of tea kettle noise.

I immediately thought the LICP got a pinhole leak, so i took it off put the stock one on, same thing. Took off the rest of the piping including the IC checked everything reclamped all clamps, still have the noise. I did a boost leak test and I could not reproduce the sound it was making everything sounded normal.

Checked everything twice over including the J pipe, no cracks, no holes, nothing.

At this point im completely stumped. Heard a couple of people say my turbo is dieng because it has very little shaft play (left and right not in and out)

So heres some videos of the sound it makes under boost. It definitly sounds a lot worse under boost, and with the videos its a little harder to hear while not in boost. Sorry for the long story(wasn't short after all) but im super fed up and I want this crap fixed! Any help is appreciated thank you.

BTW my mods are 3' Turbo Back exhaust with cat, INjen intake and IC piping, upper and lower, stock IC, stock evo 9 BOV, and a 3 port boost soilenoid.

I have a slight whistle from a crack in my wastegate, nothing like yours though. Might be worth checking if you haven't already. Good luck man.

The BOV and wastegate are two diff things. Both 8 and 9 turbos have the same components just different sizes.

Well last time that happened to me it was my FP RED turbo, Turbine was hitting the housing. Good luck man check for shaft play on your turbo.

Yea there is very little shaft play with my turbo but I've pushed it to the side and turned it but didn't feel any contact to the housing. But it was a little harder to turn not exactly free spooling.

Well as of yesterday I pretty much confirmed that it wasn't J pipe. Took it off for the third time and when I put back on accidentally stripped the right bolt that goes into the turbo so know I hear a secondary leak from there. So I hear 2 leaks now both in different places so the J pipe is completely out of the question now. But now I need to either drill out that hole or put in my 9 turbo. Still need the install kit and the actuator. Ugh

whisle sound from passener side

Hey man did you ever figure that problem out? I have the exact same sound coming from my IX and only happens under boost. Gonna run a leak test tonight but wondering if you pinpointed it.

As a matter of fact I did. I ended up buying an 8 turbo with a 10.5 hot side to replace my old one and it turns out the inner turbine on my old turbo was bottoming out and grinding against a hub like thing(don't know the technical name). My opinion is that the reason it only did this under boost is because when it creates boost the shaft would move because of the pressure and cause it to rub. Good thing I changed it, if those blades would have exploded my engine would be done. Definitly suggest rebuilding or replacing your turbo.
